Agree, when one meets a real African today you know without a doubt they are the original Black Africans. Our African Americans are not black, they have had 200+ years to intermarry and mix the gene pool.
Most of the shit about race comes from the past ideas of the white men and woman that were scared to death their daughter would be raped or fall in love with someone below them in status. and have a child of another color. This was mostly the middle class that tried to emulate the wealthy and upper class and failed miserably.
What would the neighbors think became a mantra at least up here and social status was above love or care for family members.
Crazy ideas then and now, family member married a "Jew" but that was OK, he was a Doctor.
Seeds of discontent, race or religion, but people being human went on and married and had children that looked different and prayed different from the past generations of family.

I am a White MUTT, but a DNA test could most likely find all kinds of races in my blood line. Both Mom and Dads ancestors were sea going men and I expect from early photographs their wives could not outrun the Indians.
As an American I am proud of being a Mutt, My children and past ancestors were Mutts, we are the product of America, the greatest experiment ever in the history of the world. When we visit other country's we all of us regardless of race or religion are called American, not that we come from America, but we are Americans.
Must confuse the rest of the world who can stand up and say---we are Russian, Chinese or Kenyan.
