CC Dream Thread.
« on: June 21, 2008, 02:42:07 PM »
1) OK, here are the rules. Post one of your (Safe For Work) dreams and the next person will interpret it.
2) The interpretation is NOT real, we all will just make it up. More than one interpretation may be received. Fine. Deal with it.
2A) Always quote the dream you are referring to in your post.
3) Your dream does not have to be recent. It could be a favorite one you had a year ago. Please label it is as such. I keep a dream diary, so you may see some of my more spectacular dreams from years gone by.
4) This is the lounge so its all in fun.

I'll start.

This was scarier than it sounds.

OK, people were being infected by...wasps. You could tell because there was a hole in the neck and the wasps were always flying in and out.
--> if you caught the person soon enough, you could remove the nest (and the flesh eating grubs). Otherwise the wasps would kill the host and he would be a zombie that sounded like a buzzing beehive. If you shot a zombie, they would explode (they were hollow), and a million angry wasps would fly out!

The only protection was Deep Woods Off. Not even the Zombies would come near you.

Pretty girls would try to get me to date them, but there was always a wasp in her hair of a few flying around. "Don't be afraid, they're cute lil' bugs!"

But I knew better, they only wanted to infect me with wasps! Bad wasp girls!

I tried to warn people online, but the mods would keep locking my threads.
And one of them called me up, "You want to get banned, just keep it up mister! Buzz! Buzz!"
and thats what shocked me awake. The realization that the mods were... WASP PEOPLE!

The shocked awake thing is one of my nightmare trademarks. I'll wake up with my hand on the light switch. I may laugh once I realize how silly my dream was. But I'll leap outa bed with a good nightmare.

All in all, this was one of my better nightmares. story and everything!

I frequently have what I call Epic Dreams.

Dreams where I have a separate life and the dreams last for weeks.  And I sleep and dream in my dreams.

I have had at least one where I suspected I was in a dream (I was home but couldn't find my apartment), hit my hand against a telephone pole and merely hurt my hand.  I was going to walk in front of a truck to end the dream, then chickened out, since I wasn't 100% sure I was in a dream.

They are too long to post here and I lose a lot of the detail in the few minutes I wake.

But I have these Epic Dreams a lot.

I'd say you ate a really bad burrito before going to bed Mr. Mann :-)

FD - I do that as well. In fact, I can control it at times. I can pick up where I left off by remembering it right before I fall asleep. I can also go back into a dream if I'm awakened in the middle of it.

I have a sleep disorder and do all sorts of weird things. My brother does as well.

The last dream I had was about John McCain. I'm not kidding! I was interviewing him for a news program but he looked like he did when he came home from Viet Nam. Surreal.

He did buy me coffee at the airport a year ago and I dreamt about that for weeks. I dreamt that he invited me to sit down at a table instead of what really happened. He was behind me in line and I fumbled for my wallet so he stepped up and offered to pay. I turned around to say "thank you" and was a little speechless. It took a moment to register. This was in August and he was on his way to Iowa and we were both stranded at Reagan Natl. He's much shorter than I imagined but he looked really good. Tired but good.

Anyway, in my recurring dreams, we sit down and drink the coffee and he practices his policy positions in the form of short speeches.

Weird!

I swear I'm not making this up!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Okay...

I had pulled over at a rest stop on the side of the highway.

There were all these truckers offering me cucumbers and corn on the cob and bratwurst and banannas.

Then my gym coach from 8th grade appeared and tried to get me to smoke this really nasty smelling cigar.

And for some reason I was wearing a white negligee, which is REALLY ****ed up because I hate wearing white.

when I was a kid of about 15 or so, we had our own knockout game we would play - It was (and still is) dangerous, but not as dangerous as the ones that involve choking the kids play now. our version involves no tools or drugs.Ill PM directions but I wont post them publically.

I was "out" for about 30 seconds.

Quote from: knockout dream
I was on a red glowing rollercoaster in total blackness. at the end of the highest fall, was a glowing red clown's face - as I raced toward it  -it became all encompassing, and it enveloped me completely as I passed through.

Then I woke up.

I was about 20 years older, unconscious and in an alley in New York City. I had just been mugged - after a few minutes of adjustment, I realized who I was (different name and I remembered bits and pieces of a totally different life) and that my briefcase was missing. I cleaned myself off, got up, and began to remember the dream I had while unconscious about a rollercoaster, and then it followed I was messing around playing this pass out game with these other kids.

Once I was revived by the other kids by getting slapped repeatedly, they told me that For a few moments I seemed awake, collapsed, and went into all sorts of convulsions, they thought I was doomed as doomed can be. All of this in less than a minute. I figure this was about 1985 or so, And I have never ever forgotten it.
