Watkins Glen, not Sonoma.  Still, they are the only 2 road courses NASCAR runs.

The Nationwide race in Mexico was a road course race as well.

Several drivers have moved from either Indycar or F1 to run NASCAR, with mixed results.

Outside of Tony Stewart, almost all the rest have been mediocre at best.

Since Earnahrdt Ganassi announced they are dropping Montoya for 2014, he's going back to Indycar next year to drive for Penske.

I went to a road race a few years ago at Laguna Seca.

The oysters and champagne were great.

The race was the most boring sporting event ever conducted without a soccer ball.

I agree, they are boring, but the brauts at Road America were to die for!

I like my season seats at Bristol, right above Turn 1.  You can see the entire half mile without having to move your head!

Been to Thunder Valley the last 2 Father's Days to watch them light the candles on those 10,000 hp nitro burners.

Got connections for those.  My step-son works for Shelor's Motor Mile in C'burg, VA, selling cars.  Funnycar driver Matt Hagan's dad is one of the owners.  Hooks us up with Don Schumacher Racing passes, meet and greets, hospitality tent passes, etc.

BTW, Jack Beckman's dad is a RIOT!  Jack signs his autograph "Fast Jack".  His dad signed "Slow Bob".  Wife got a pic with Don Schumacher himself back in June.

Laguna Seca bordered on Fort Ord Ca. I got to visit that track while I was stationed there circa '82 to '85.
