Fall has crashed into Iowa.
« on: September 15, 2013, 10:07:22 PM »
It is like God flips a switch, One week its 103 for a high with 74 for a low.
The next week its 75 for a high with a low in the 50's.

No transition whatsoever.
I've been here for a few years now and its always shocked me with how suddenly this takes place. September is not a month in the 90s and 80s...nope. Its an overnight 30 degree drop.

But thats the weather in my neck of the woods.  How about you?

The weather man says it was only 84º today... I don't believe him.

It's nice once the sun goes down.

Watch out for Indian Summer. And don't ask how. That's my schtik  !

There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Always.  We usually get a week or two of overly-temperate weather before the heat (or cold) comes raging back for another few weeks.

It's going to hit 61 today, according to the Weather Channel, and the low tonight is set to be 36.  The fireplace will be running with some of the maple that I got from my father-in-law.

In north-central Missouri, the temps cooled off to about the mid-70's for a high and down into the high-50's at night.

Still warm enough for a T-shirt and shorts at 4 AM when I walk the dogs. But yeah, the drop in temps happened pretty quickly.

October's my favorite month, especially when the leaves are coming down. The smell in the air is great.

September can be a mixed bag of sorts, but it's half-over now. Something tells me that global cooling is going to rear its ugly head this winter....

The temps have been awesome, we are, however, looking at rain this Friday and Saturday.   :hyper:

Fall is my favorite time of year.   Living in So. coastal Calif, there isn't a lot of weather changes, but you can still sense the change.  Maples in the neighborhood change colors, the afternoon light is different too, casting longer shadows, and the days start to shorten.

And it's football season.... :yahoo:

We enjoyed a nice little thunderstorm out here in Washington yesterday.  My mom is visiting from California and she kept saying "Wow, this is real rain."
