But, but... some of my favorite Saturday nights involved a dash and a twist and whipped cream on top!

We were talking coffee, not sports (night time aerobics)

Clues:
I was the 1st of my name, and the 2nd queen, who are my parents?

Queen Elizabeths parents, but I don't know who they are.  They are dead.  Does that count?

Elizabeth? I don't know. When it comes to kings and queens I only know the ones in the Bible.

.

King George and Elizabeth.  Hmmm, does that make Queen Elizabeth's mother Elizabeth the second queen being she was married to George?

I was talking about Queen Elizabeth the 1st. Her parents are King Henry the VIII and Anne Boleyn. Cl carrots , I am surprised in your theology lessons, that you didn't know this. It was his divorce from Katherine of Aragon, and marriage to Anne Boleyn, that was one of the main reasons of England's break from the Roman Catholic Church.

Well I believe that Baptists have always been since the time of Christ. Have to be from the Roman Catholic Church to be a protestant.

Believing a thing does not make it so. DUmmies believe Obama will deliver each of them a Skittle-shitting unicorn.

The term "Protestant" refers to Christian denominations which reject the idea of the primacy of the Roman Catholic Church, to those which separated from Catholicism after the Orthodox/Catholic schism, and to those newer denominations which descend from the separatist groups.

Here's the line from Catholic to Baptist: The Anglican Church separated from the Roman Catholic Church. The Separatists separated from the Anglicans. The Baptists descended from the Separatists. The first Baptist church in the New World was in Providence, Rhode Island Colony in 1638, and it was solidly Baptist Separatist, and "protestant", as it rejected the primacy of the Roman Catholic Church and the Anglican Church.

We have a Starbuck's here & no Dunkin Donuts. Hell, the doughnut shops close around noon.  :(

I could always use a Starbuck's card. I like espresso. Sometimes it's easier to go there than to make it myself since my coffee grinder is on the fritz.

Since you wonderful people are not very well versed in British History, I will think of something else. I don't want to pick one person, then I will be accused of favoritism.

There are two common baptists theories. We derive from the Anabaptists which became prominent during the reformation of the Catholic church. The other is that baptist-like (Local New Testament) churches have existed since the time of Christ. I believe the second theory based of Biblical principles. Churches are local, and that God would protect his word and his church.

Your use of the word "theories" and your choice to believe in one of them, to the exclusion of the other, says that you disbelieve in the existence of Anabaptists and Baptists who descend from the English Separatists.

Do you really believe that the Amish and the Pilgrims are figments of our collective imagination?
