I've thought about taking bets on whether or not she actually gets to leave her sisters.

It's best that she stay there in Joplin under their lovng care and supervision, but what's best for a person doesn't always happen.

Having said that though, I suspect that, given her luck thus far, some sort of glitch is going to happen, and ooops, she can't leave.

It looks like Amber and offwiththeirheads have hooked up and, she has a list of places she wants to be chauffeured to when she gets there.  I have this vision of a dark foggy night in Tucson and a dark colored, windowless van waiting at the bus station.  Amber may be able to fit this scene into one of her horror/thriller books she is waiting to publish.

Actually, I see another possibility, and it's based upon people in this time and place, but several years ago.

She wants to go back to Tucson for one reason, and one reason only.  Her doting sisters are just a superficial excuse for getting out of Joplin.  She's still in love with the old guy who rejected her, and dreams of a reconciliation.

It's not going to happen, though, and in her fury of unrequitted love, she's either going to try to kill him, or succeed in killing herself.

Unrequitted love makes one do crazy things.

This is why I honestly think she's better off right where she is, with her protective sisters.

There is something more to this that I am not seeing. I could never make a major trip with no job waiting, or no money to tide me over. I'm thinking her sisters don't know about the move. Further I'm wondering if dear sweet Lady Freedumb isn't going to steal everything of value and hock her sister's furniture.

I've met bad news gals like this one before. get a job, steal from the till, and quit 8 days later. I think this fool who will meet her in Tuscon will have a heck of a time getting rid of her.

This gal is mentally ill, sees everyone as a pasty, a clepto, and a total mooch...pure DU material right there.
