What is Pres. Obama's political escape route at this point?

I think it is undeniable at this point that Pres. Obama has painted himself into a bad spot politically with the "red line" nonsense and now he appears to be doubling down on striking Syria. I am having a hard time seeing any way for him to avoid a major political defeat on Syria. That is especially true if he gives a national speech advocating striking Syria and Congress votes no on the idea.

It is a tragedy that Obama chose this issue to stake so much political capital on when so many of us begged for a similar level of persuasion and effort in regard to single payer, the public option and greater stimulus.

This will be his legacy if he does not alter his strategy and find some way to save face. I do not know how he can do at this point.

Could you even imagine the anti-American libs doing this thread during the Bush years?

So far, it's either this could be his out...

1. Putin deal with Syria on chemical weapons may at least save him from a humiliation in Congress.

... or let's double down and pretend it's not a problem at all.

I deny it...

7. Speak for yourself when you trash Obama & Kerry's handling of the situation.

What are the two faced to do?

I'm confused as to how the universe's smartest being in history could be in such a position?

It's almost like his mentality was stunted by being in the choom gang for his teenage frontal lobe development years. You know we will never see those college transcripts because if he were not white-black he would have had a long career in flipping burgers.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I'm not sure about that--just never noticed--but do know she's elephantine.

I haven't seen her drawing hearts around his name like Cha and SheShe, but she is an ardent supporter who brooks no dissent from the DUmmies. She's kind of a body guard of his feelings and reputation.

I don't think the DUmmies want anyone to get their hands on that Syrian poison gas.

They're afraid it might be discovered that it was all smuggled into Syria from Iraq after W dropped the hammer on Saddam.

There's a host of primitives over there campaigning that whatever happens that "it's a win" for Dear Leader and urging those who have been skeptical to acknowledge this. A kook Dem pol site where the members are reduced to begging their fellow kooks to march in lock-step.

No doubt they will come election time like the good little lemmings they are, but it's fun to watch the show.

It's all a farce. They want to look intelligent by pretending to be independent thinkers of the highest order when in reality their just a bunch of DUmbass followers of "The One", "The Only", "The Dumbest" president ever.

No doubt. You may have a few that will feign anger should Syria be attacked, but come election time they'll obey as they have been ordered.

I have one question.....what is it costing us to have Putin save Obama's ass from a Congressional vote? :???:

Putin suggested that we ask Assad to turn over all his chemical weapons.  Duh...you mean diplomacy might work?

Of course Kerry big droning mouth said, ".... but he isn't about to do it and it can't be done".

You can say that again.

Despite what the 100% Dear Leader cult worshipping primitives would have others believe, Putin has run circles around Obumbler and exposed his incompetence and weakness. Dear Leader foolishly drew a line in the sand about a issue of which he had no business making reference. Dolt has no clue when to shut up.

What has it cost us? The same thing it always cost us when a Democrat/liberal is in office; our enemies know they're dealing with someone who writes checks his stupid mouth can't cash. The only reason the drone strikes are still happening is because no one has confronted him to tell him to stop. If the drones were attacking something Russia or China viewed as vital to their security, he'd fold like a cheap suit.
