Oh my.

The member here whose excellent detective work uncovered a once-famous primitive is free to publicly take the credit if he wishes; I'm just passing this along, as a public service.

Tesla is already making the competition sweat

blah blah blah, not relevant for the purpose of this thread

2. I have several friends and neighbors who own Models S's

They are a joy to drive, but I still prefer massive HP.

4. Haven't been in a sedan but the acceleration of a roaster is hard to match.

And quiet, too.

6. I've driven both

The Roadster is a blast.

I own a 1990 560 SEL that is in showroom condition. It was the last of the great Mercedes - the last one that MB spared no expense in developing. It has the 16V/RUF engine and it will fly. I also have a neighbor/friend who owns a Tesla Roadster and another who has a Model S.

We trade cars, sometimes, for the sheer beautiful difference in the rides (we live in Wine Country, CA and there are plenty of gorgeous drives).

5. IIRC, the Tesla S has something like 425 horsepower.

The nice thing about electric cars is that the motors can be capable of enormous torque.

7. The torque is immediate, too

It's like being pulled by a string.

My daily driver is a 1990 560SEL (16V/RUF engine - 336 lb/ft) and it hits you like a ton of bricks. It is so strong that it pulls away from a stop in 2nd gear, unless you push at least 2/3 to the floor. Then, it becomes a two-ton rocket. The S is like being jerked out of a chute, smoothly.

My Benz is in showroom condition and will still peg 155mph with no sweat. I only wish I knew how to defeat the governor. I imagine it would reach at least 180.

Okay, it's pretty obvious who the primitive is in past lives.
apres moi, le deluge

Milo Yiannopoulos "It has been obvious since 2016 that Trump carries an anointing of some kind. My American friends, are you so blind to reason, and deaf to Heaven? Can he do all this, and cannot get a crown? This man is your King. Coronate him, and watch every devil shriek, and every demon howl."

I'd believe it's our old Tesla fan, but that contraction bothers me.
He never wrote a contraction.

This time, he is a 60 year old blues musician who has played with all the greats.  He's a Vietnam veteran who served in Laos in '70 and '71.  Like Tom, he brags that he lives under the radar, with an assumed identity and no bank account.  He lives in Sonoma, but grew up on a ranch in TX.  He's incredibly rich but only showers twice a week and dresses like a bum.

I think his girlfriend owns (on paper, it's really his) the winery where they live.  He is a cross between DollarBillHines and TominTib this iteration.

1. That's hilarious. I was almost arrested in my own front yard.

I live on a street of $1M+ houses and my 'crime' was being a long-haired, bearded guy in ragged clothes, holding a bottle of beer.

"Put down the beer and don't move!"

"Huh?"

"What are you doing on this side of town?"

"Huh?"

"Just answer my question, asshole!"

"Uh, maybe because I live here?"

"Don't bullshit me, asshole, let's see some I.D."

"It's on my dresser."

And on it went. Pat-down, sobriety test (it was my first beer of the day), call for back-up, etc.

In my own front yard.

He's an unrepentant shitbag and a world-class liar.

The DUmmies fall for it every time.
If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

Yep. Definitely TomInTib/DollarBillHines, or someone doing an excellent impression of him.

No one at the DUmp is smart enough to keep up that impression for long, though.

Tom is as honest as Pam Dawson, and a really evil drunk, but he's funny as hell.

The only DUmmy who has ever been in nadin's league.

Oh, you'll enjoy his stories ... for awhile.  He pisses me off when he starts his Stolen Valor act.

I've been wondering what ever happened to DBill.  :???:
The lad was doing so well, he was starting to look like a DOTY contender.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
