Thank you for the advise, kind of late now but I did use SOS and do everything wrong.
Frankly I have no idea why anyone in their right mind would want anything of this high care in the first place.
I have Towel from my mom that she polished and stored in those air tight vacuum bags that have not tarnished in 40 years.------A shame to have it as I am afraid to use it. I priced replacement items on line and now know where the expression to count ones spoons from.
Then there is the flat ware she gave me belonging to her grand mother. Everything is there including the tea pot and butter dish and a couple salt cellars, no salt shakers back then.
Just what the heck are we to do in to days time with hand downs from family, cannot sell it , guilt, darn, my grandmother was not born when her mother owned something or other.
I am trying to talk myself into selling all this stuff, or donate, or lend it to some to a museum, tax right off perhaps.
Can't give it to my kids, my boys would use the plates for skeet shooting.
