If Mr. Obama didn't want his balls in this particular vise, he should not have dangled them there. I'm not going to support blowing more children sideways out of their bedrooms and potentially sparking a region-wide conflagration just because the president boxed himself in, or because it means I might agree with a Republican. Of all the reasons to support this shitstorm, those are easily the dumbest of the lot.

The hyper-authoritarian impulse to support WHATEVER THE BOSS SAYS NO MATTER WHAT WHAAARGARBLE is not solely a right-wing phenomenon.

I was not born with that particular gene, and I thank God for it every single day.

I've seen stuff excused by many on here for years. You'd see a story about something stupid some GOPer would say or do, but anything equally stupid by a dem would be brushed off, or if you were the unlucky one to bring it up you were instantly a "troll" or worse.
Maybe now people will see that just because its YOUR side doesnt make it right. It certainly seems like its happening with this event.

I hate to admit this, but I am finding myself in agreement (not completely, but still in agreement) with Wee William.  Where we obviously depart is Iraq and Afghanistan (I will never forgive you for the way you acted and the things you said for those 8 years, William), but there it is...

William, we have digital reams of material (a good bit of it from you) that says otherwise.  I started a thread, now over 30 pages, full of examples where you supported "whatever the boss says no matter what whaargarble" and we have reaped the bitter harvest.  Maybe you should examine your past conduct in this matter to understand why we are now in a position where your president is going to potentially start WWIII.

I'm personally ecstatic you're not going to lockstep yourself into the abyss, but you need to recognize your past behavior and how it got us to this point.

That when all votes are counted far more republicans are going to vote for war than democrats, and far more democrats are going to vote against war than republicans. Just like the Amash vote on the NSA.

Also, its important to note that just because Rand Paul is against war does not mean that we are against war for the same reason. He just does not give a shit about the Syrian people (unless they are Christian  ) while we don't want to make things worse and stain our hands with unnecessary and innocent blood.
