I got into residence on campus!...

Last edited Tue Sep 3, 2013, 05:20 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)

Just picked up my keys and I'm in my room now. Really sudden change but I think it will be good for me as it gets me away from my parents into an environment where I can always concentrate on my school work. I have been very worried as this semester approaches. I have my own room but share bathroom, kitchen and living room accommodations with 8 others.

Another nice aspect, aside from getting away from the parents is that I don't have to worry about the 30min - 1hour commute (depending on car or transit) too and from home every day. More time for work and leisure.

I had the idea of trying for residency only about a week ago and talked to my parents and psychiatrist both of whom thought it was a good idea. I was very lucky to get a place as they were full but I managed to snag one of the early clear outs.

I'll have to make sure to monitor myself and make sure I don't get depressed or anxious as my emotional issues may react to this. But I think it will be a positive. Again very sudden change, didn't know I was going to do this yesterday, having to move my stuff quickly tonight.

But its kind of exciting too.

5. Good for you, my dear Locut0s!

That is a great move!

I did so much growing up when I lived on campus. It was excellent getting away from the parental units, lol!

It is exciting esp. since you didn't have time to put up any real resistance.

"the parental units" . . . :whatever:

My first thought too...this will not end well.

In a month he will be even more broken, helpless, etc from all the "bullying".

I was getting sick of Loconuts whining about his life.    Should be some great tales of hijinks with his dorm buddies and, I expect those college coeds will be crawling all over him.

No kidding Tess...this is a 60 something year old woman still talking like this.  :whatever:

As for a 31 year old in a dorm...personally, I would not be comfortable having my 18 year old daughter having to live in or near a dorm with a 30 something year old man. To me a dorm is a place for 'traditional college student'. Pretty much sums up the mental maturity of the DUmp though I suppose. I'm sure it won't take long for the healthy, balanced 18 year olds to scare him back to his cocoon of his parents...oh and Peg, I doubt his parents had any resistance--they are probably throwing a damn party they finally got him out! I suggest they sell and move to retirement now while they have the chance! This might be the only one they have.

I can only hope that maybe he is in some sort of graduate student housing with people his own age.  I have to admit, I'm younger than he is and I can't imagine trying to live with a bunch of college age kids  :p

Just rowed over to that thread.  17 responses, and none of them are reminding him what a loser he really is.  Multiple times dropping out of school, still living at home at age 31 without showing any appreciation for the long-suffering parents who have been supporting his lazy ass.

This too shall pass.

Pray for the 8 youngsters living with the crazy person.

Those other guys are going to be thanking their lucky stars.  Just wait until Locut0s gets back into his skinny pants, that strikingly handsome young stud is going to be a chick magnet that will have hordes of coeds sniffing around and all his wingmen will be reaping the benefits.

Things going against me:

31 year old virgin with a bunch of mental baggage. Depression and anxiety.
Never so much as held hands with a girl.
Still live at home with parents.
Having problems living in the world due to emotional issues.
Put on a few extra pounds.
Initially probably looking for sex above other things (but that's probably more due to having never played around in my teens and 20s like most do)
Not looking for a family.

Things going for me:

Still quite handsome, been told I'm strikingly so when I've lost some weight.
Very intelligent.
Excellent sense of humour.
Awesome personality, I get along with most people.
Longer run looking for a life companion, someone to laugh and joke and have fun with.
I feel like I'd be a great cuddler and listener.

Any hope you think, or should I just pack my bags and forget about it. I probably will anyway.

Things going against me:

31 year old virgin with a bunch of mental baggage. Depression and anxiety.  Star Trek Red Alert Siren!!
Never so much as held hands with a girl. Say you are a homo. That works. Sometimes. Probably not for you, but try it anyway.
Still live at home with parents. Red Flag!
Having problems living in the world due to emotional issues. Star Trek Red Alert Siren!
Put on a few extra pounds. 200 is not a few lbs dummie
Initially probably looking for sex above other things (but that's probably more due to having never played around in my teens and 20s like most do)
Not looking for a family. Might I suggest a prostitute?

Things going for me:

Still quite handsome, been told I'm strikingly so when I've lost some weight. Well dummie... get back to the ladies when you have lost that 200 lbs.
Very intelligent. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
Excellent sense of humour. Awesome personality, I get along with most people. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Longer run looking for a life companion, someone to laugh and joke and have fun with. I feel like I'd be a great cuddler and listener. Right after sex, right?

Any hope you think, or should I just pack my bags and forget about it. I probably will anyway.

My 2 cents... give sheep the vote dummie. Might I suggest UnderGround Panther? She is about your speed. Probably better than sheep. Just make sure she is declawed before you shack up with her. That is for your safety.

Wait!!! How about Lady Freedom? I hear she needs a new boyfriend.  :whistling: :whistling:

Guess what loser... you are a loser. From the top of your head, to the bottom of your heel. A freaking loser. Look up loser in the dictionary and they got your pic there under "Example of a loser". Only chance you got is to get a dummie female. Only chance. Other than that.. do yourself a favor and off yourself.   :loser: :loser:

Don't know about Canada, but in the US, the college boys would be thrilled that there is someone to buy beer legally.  At least that first weekend.

19. My parents are actually footing the bill for this...
They have offered to pay for my tuition and books but I said no to those I have saved up enough on my own for those and felt guilty having them pay for that. I've been living at home too long and should owe them money really. But here I will allow them to pay, I could technically pay for this too, have enough saved, but it would eat into things uncomfortably.
Of course the parents are willing to pay.

They are accustomed to paying for this loser, but an added benefit is that they will not be able to clear the stench of his desperation and cheetoes out of the house.

One can imagine them skipping through the house giddily singing 'happy days are here again.'

More arrested childhood from the DUmp.  There might be some good stories to come out of this.  He's such a drama queen.
