I dreamed I was with Clare Boothe Luce, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, Martha Baird Rockefeller, Richard Daley, Thomas Dewey--we were quite a large crowd--Chester Allan Arthur, Anne Morrow Lindbergh, Rachele Mussolini, Mrs. Haile Selassie, Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, Ellen Axson Wilson, Eleanor of Aquitaine, and Igor Kipnis, partying at Toots Shors' place in New York City.

It was Christmas Eve, and we got to feeling religious, so went to Midnight Mass at a cathedral in northern New Jersey.

The head altar boy, leading the procession, in a red-and-white cossack, bearing a large cross in front of him, and bellowing out "Once In Royal David's City," was none other than the brain-damaged primitive.
