Yup...the schism on DU is deepening

And you know what? I actually don't mind it, one bit. The fissures were there all along.
 
And the reality is that uggly commies...err lib'ruls, will be blamed for 2014 and 2016. The problem is...that threat is not working anymore.
 
The country is not conservative. The elites are. The elites used to understand that you have to give something to the people from time to time...they are really are not. In fact, they are taking away fundamental rights. So 2014...the ones to game will be the elites, in particular the party elite of the Democratic Party who has chosen to turn a blind eye to these concerns.
 
It's not because Democratic Party elites hate lib'ruls (some do). They decided to become the party of business...that's cool...the US goes through this every so often. Just be open about it. Nature abhors vacuums, so do political systems.
 
This is a natural evolution in American political history, it's time for the people, the base, to smell the coffee and realize the party of business does not want the lumpen proletariat anymore.
 
Local Labor councils are starting to abandon electoral politics as the end all of the system. Electing pols is no longer their highest priority, why? Card check is often cited...as well as free trade agreements. Behind closed doors both parties are now lumped together.
 
Then we have the current NSA kerfunkle and the name calling on all civil libertarians.
 
What I am seeing is the beginnings of what both parties fear: voter revolts.

Oh I expect acid responses, it goes with it. I am the enemy of the arty, for I am an uggly and dangerous lib'rul.

Instead we have seen an escalation to the point that no, I don't think it can be dialed down. We are at that point some of us have predicted. Things will now slowly escalate... but they will.

The core problem with these idiots.  Independence?  You want complete dependence, which you zoo exhibits somehow equate with independence.  There is a reason the two words are different, helmet-child.

 finally found a way out of the Mexican Hell hole she grew up in.

She Married a male that came from the USA, had a good job and was out of her hair for 6 months of the year.

After 15 years or so hubby kept getting passed over for advancement and at 20 years was the oldest E-7 in the Subservice--------

He retired due to embarrassment and she who had seldom worked a day in her life for a pay check had to face facts, Hubby's retirement would not pay all the bills. 

Now her hubby had to find a civilian job and he was lucky to become a Mall Cop. Likely the oldest one of the bunch.     

 She who calls her hobby a job with no pay is getting a bit panicked over what becomes of her if Hubby looses his job due to the economy.

All those years with no children she could have stashed away a lot of money had she WORKED even flipping tacos.    All those years of Government free Be's , housing allowance, hazardous pay and in some cases base housing with free utilities rent at $200.00 + a month.

Oh no now she and hubby are on their own, true they still get free health care, or almost free.  They still can shop at the commissary to buy food at  1/2 the price of a civilian grocery store-----Clip the coupons and eat high on the hog for $100.00 a month.

Base privileges for them, long as they have the magic card, just out movies $2.00 each,  Chiefs club, with all one can eat shrimp or a prime rib dinner once a week for $5.00------

Oh Yes, Nads has one hell of a nerve complaining about the  conditions of the poor.

I believe Nads is a running scared, how to survive if Hubby looses his day job.   What to do if Obama reduces retirement pay to our retired service men and woman.

This woman is a mess, if Hubby drops dead, she will get less then she would get if she had Worked for her own #SS.   

No children to help her, no real past experience in Work for money--------Can't go back to Mexico for help from family, and the ever going  wonder if her Hubby is putting lead flakes in her breakfast cereal.

What she (?) doesn't understand is that the MannyGoldstein's of the modern-day political left are the same as they've ever been. Oh, they may rant and rave that the candidates aren't as commie as they like, but come election day MannyGoldstein will pull the lever for someone to the right of Reagan if s/he's the Dem candidate. The MannyGoldsteins of the modern-day left do what they're told to do.

OTOH, conservatives moved into the Republican Party camp because they were campaigning upon and enacting conservative ideas. They quit doing that, and the conservatives will go away.

Republicans have much more to fear from "voter revolt" than do Dems. The Dems don't fear their kook voters leaving because come election time they'll obey. The Republicans don't appear to be worried, and they may be in for a big surprise if they don't wake up, and soon.
