Probably not, he makes his living stirring the pot and this is just in that vein. Representatives run in their own Districts and Senators in their own States, it really doesn't matter a hoot in Hell what a voter in North Carolina thinks about a Congressional candidate in Ohio or Colorado. Most of the people running for re-election have a
much better idea about what's going to sell to the people who are actually going to be voting for or against them than any pundit or talk-show guy...except for the occasional delusional, egotistical dumbshit like Todd Akin who think that what they want to have is what God wants them to have, and no amount of threats or rational appeals from their own side will get them to see how bad they screwed the pooch (Of course, Akin was running as a first-time Senate candidate, so 'Re-election' doesn't actually apply to his case).
