Rodeo clowns

I am, perhaps, a rare breed. A "progressive" Dem who is a rural, trail ridin' cowgirl, who from time to time enjoys attending rodeos around this rural Western community where I live.

To my horrror, it is not uncommon at these rodeos (unless they are sponsored by American Indian communities....) to lash out at our Democratic President. It is extremely uncomfortable to hear some of the venom directed at Pres Obama. While everyone around me hoorays, I slink into my seat and do what little I can - safely - to retreat or object from the display.

So, I was not at all surprised to read of this recent incident of the rodeo clown wearing an Obama mask and asking if the crowd wants to see Obama run over by a bull. I imagine worse things were included in the show.

I think this is something we on the left should be aware of. Perhaps we want to infiltrate in groups, safety in numbers, and show our support for our President at some of these rodeos!

The DUmmies claimed for 8 years that dissent was patriotic, and all the horrible nasty things they said about Bush was protected speech. Now all of a sudden they get all butthurt over their preezy getting mocked.

That's the difference between us and them, they mock our president we laugh at them, we mock their preezy and they want to string us up.

...and I see the same thing. The only consolation I have is the probability that most of those "clowns" probably haven"t voted in decades. Maybe ever. The realization does comfort me.

2. Just pass a law making it a felony to criticize the President.

A lot of other countries have laws restricting criticizing or shaming the government and its leaders. After all, if you show disrespect to an elected leader you show disrespect to the entire government and the nation, and that can't be tolerated in a free people.

Two such countries that spring to mind are Venezuela and Russia.

It's one thing to be racist. It's another to mock a sitting president. My own personal values say it's wrong to disrespect people in such a way, for example calling the President a chimp; however, the Constitution says otherwise so I limit enforcing my personal values to my person.

Has to be a mole.  :-)

12. I don't get why all these rural cowboys support making Wall Street richer.

The GOP is clearly the party who's main goal is to make the super rich richer.
I've never understood why salt of the earth kind of people want to give more of their money to the rich.

 :rotf:

That post reminds me of the all the money belongs to the government thread.
How in the hell is it that if some fat cat on Wall Street gets rich that it is taking money from anyone else? The only rich people we are giving money to are the politicians and the people they bribe with that money.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

A rodeo and a redneck "honky tonk" bar.  What do those two things have in common?  Oh yeah, hard working people like both of them.  No wonder they criticize the Golfer in Chief.

"TRUTH TO POWER" baby

Also, if you heard the presidents comments this AM about the riots in Egypt, it is supposidly wrong to stomp down dissent there, but banning a clown in this country is fine.
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

So, some people in America are upset because a couple of rodeo clowns made fun of the clowns running this rodeo we call America.

Oh, hell, kiddo.  Rodeo clowns make fun of every president.  They'll also poke fun at an area's county commissioners, a long time rancher, ranchers and cowboys in general, rodeo riders, buckle bunnies, town people, dogs, kids, etc.

And Indian rodeos?  Take all of the above and add Indians and wasichu to it.

Breathe, puppy, breathe.

Same reason they can't stand us over here making fun of them. Next time you see a thread from over there talking about how we "obsess" over them and we must not have a life, that's just code for them pouting, stomping their feet and saying "They're making fun of us and that's not fair!! Boo Hoo Hoo!!"

Missouri Fair Rodeo Clown, Tuffy Gessling, Arrested For “Hate Crimes”

 http://nationalreport.net/missouri-fair-rodeo-clown-arrested-for-hate-crimes/#sthash.2GYcI8Fi.dpuf

Quote
Late Thursday evening, federal agents arrested Tuffy Gessling, the rodeo clown that donned an Obama mask at the Missouri State Fair, for committing a hate crime. Tuffy has been moved to an unnamed detention center for further questioning, possibly regarding terroristic intentions.

The National Report spoke briefly with Mr. Gessling’s attorney, Reid Nosse who had this to say:

“My client is suffering severe mental stress from this incident. He’s broken. From this point on, he will be nothing but a sad clown: a smile painted on the outside, but actually crying on the inside. He will never again wear his squeaky red nose with pride. He was simply exercising his right to free speech”.

A spokesperson for President Obama declined to comment on the situation.

Effing unbelievable.
