How does this DUmmie know that his brother didn't put in a good word for him? Getting recommended for a position doesn't mean that you will get it, and the superintendent is probably so busy with start of the year stuff that making a part time job for his buddy's sibling is not high on the priority list.

Why, you might ask I did this, it's because he's been ****ing with me for 3 weeks. Here's the reason. As some of you may know, I've been unemployed for near 3 years. I have 3 brothers and I have begged them (they know everyone) to help me find something. This brother always tells about how he got someone (not family) a job. This brother has a full time job and is a high school JV coach. I have a Masters in Education. I'm not looking for a teaching job, anything in a school district will help. So I called him on the carpet 3 weeks ago and said you have to help me somehow.

My thoughts also. If his mom is 83, he's probably close to retirement. Besides, why would a school district even want to hire someone with a depressing personality and mouth like that around kids?

There are positions...........within the Anti-Bullying program (it's on their agenda) I've taught non confrontational techniques, etc. They have an outreach program to the immigrant community(I have experience), there are coordinator positions within the Security Unit, at risk programs, etc.

DUmmyitis is a horrible, debilitating disease.Well, not really, but one of the main symptoms of it is a total lack of self-reliance. Were it not for others, these people would starve, freeze, or simply forget how to breathe.
I fail to see a downside to those outcomes...
I think the worst thing is dumping this kind of emotional baggage on his/her 83 year old mother. This is a time in her life where she should live in all the comfort and peace the family can provide for her. Instead, the DUmmy is making sure her life is filled with turmoil and sadness. Truly sick.

PA is right.....................I can't teach ( I have all certifications, etc), but do to injury I can't stand for more than 20 minutes at a time, or walk for more than 20. The Superintendent can make recs (that will be adhered to) and in particular for his office. Postings I understand. But contacting the Superintendent does me more good than harm. I understand processes. Everything in PA school districts is who you know, even when processes are followed. Hard on my brother, he's done this shit before. As for jobs he's gotten for people, it's been a couple in the district & then you can't imagine the number in the company he works for and outside that company. He deserves everything he gets.
