I don't understand it either.  If I am the one using the utilities, then why should I expect someone else to pay for them?  Plus, if you aren't paying them, then where is your motivation to conserve water and electricity? 

They are like teenagers, they want to be treated like adults, but don't want adult responsibilities. 

^5.  That is exactly it.  Why they can't figure out if *I'M* going to carry the utilities that I'm going to be charging about 1.5 to 2 times what I think they'll actually be, I'll never understand.  It's going to be a good to really good deal for me as an owner/landlord or it isn't going to happen.

We're not stupid, DUmmies!  If I'm paying for your electricity do you think I think you're going to have your thermostat set at 78 in the summer and 65 in the winter?  Nope, I know you'll be cranking that baby to whatever you want therefore I will be asking for $200/month on electric when I estimate you would be using $100/month.  It's that simple.

I've seen this too but rather than asking us to put it in our name they will use their KIDS names or another family member and usually they do this without asking said family member.  I've seen some kin folk get pretty riled up when they find out they can't get a utility turned on in their name because *they* already have a bad name with said utility ... that they've never used!

The worst ones are the WOS that take out credit cards in their kids' names, and then run them all to Hell.

We had all the tools to make sure someone applying for service was not using a minor's SS # or a deceased person's. If was amazing the lies people would come up with when we would catch them. Other times it was a kid moving out on their own for the first time, finding out their parents had used their information already. Adults stealing their children's identity, how nice!

Here in Nevada the electricity has to be applied for in person, with a picture ID. I think that helps the problem.

Quite true, matter of fact a year round camp ground with all utilities for people living in TENT cost more then that.

Amazon Camp Grounds up your way has year round camping and is in the news every week or so.  I Goggled them but can not find the rates on line. 

    1995 we got a seasonal camp site with electric and water, no sewage had to pay $25.00 every 2 weeks for the honey wagon,  for $150.00 a month.  Had we spent more then 2 days a week if that then it would have been a Great deal, but, we closed the camp up for the season in October and had to still pay for storage at $50.00 a month until May so the owners were not loosing money.

Year round camping is necessary for family's that subcontract or work for utility company's that need to haul their whole family about to disaster areas.  Modern day Gypsies that home school the kids  and survive in small spaces. 

I can see why renting with all utilities is desirable, 1985 we rented a 3 bedroom apartment for $600 a month all utilities included.   The kids went off to spend the summer vacation with grandparents and had so much more fun with them they decided they all wanted to spend the next school year with them.    So we moved into a 2 bedroom house, had to put deposits on all utilities, no air conditioning, and the $500.00 a month turned into almost $800.  The wiring was so old it had a fuse box that blew out if I had an electric coffee pot on and used the electric can opener.  We bought a window air conditioner but could not run it if the TV was on.    Worse place I ever rented by far. 

Smartest thing we ever did was to come home to New England, and buying our double home on leased land.   Were we to rent out our home today we could get $1,500 a month without utilities.   

 Next on the bucket list is to buy land in Maine in an UN Incorporated area, on a lake and live in a big 5th. wheeler. I like the idea of being able to pack up at a moments notice and not be trapped by neighborhoods gone to hell or have to answer to anyone else but myself.

Move into the neighborhoods, buy a home for $20.00 and fix it up.    Put up a good size fence, head for the ASPCA and get some Pit Bull puppy's to  raise as family dogs.

More and more white retired move in, all paint their homes and mow the grass.   Oh yes all open carry including grand ma in a Wheel chair.

All these empty homes in the middle of Chaos and more and more white retired moving in.  

Would be interesting to say the least.  No long before the shop owners, Pharmacists and  health clinics move in.

The deadbeats and the druggies would be run out  and this would become a good place to live.

Good place for the Black, Latinos and Asians to live also. it can be done.
