You know, this irritated me, too.

Last weekend, there was a major earthquake in Japan.

But all weekend long, the Drudge Report reported on the death of Tim Russert, ignoring this eart--er, planet--shaking news entirely.  In fact, unless it happened those stray hours I wasn't checking the Drudge Report made no mention of the planetquake in Japan at all.

Maybe I don't understand the news business, but it seems to me a sudden major planetquake trumps a by-then day-old story about the death of a television celebrity.

It's not like there's a war going on.

Or an out of control criminal in the White House.

Gas prices are low, as is unemployment and inflation.

Things are good in America. Did you expect them to spend the time impeaching the President or something?

Be reasonable please: it will take a Joint Session of Congress to expedite the details and financing for the Russert Memorial and Mausoleum Complex at the center of the Sea of Tranquility on the Moon. Not to be crass but a dead body is a dead body so time is of the essence here. You surely don't expect General Electric to front all the money do you? They'll be laying the groundworks for the G.E. Potato Wold and City of Tomorrow theme park a tactful distance away and will need all their own capital for that. In fact this session would be an excellent time to throw in some tax incentives to G.E. for their bold lunar theme park proposal. They may not finish it for a long time, but it will provide excellent and stable jobs for dozens whenever they do.

Why do you have to be hating?

Frank, the earthquake wasn't big news.  Japans government actually prepairs for such events.  It requires that it's buildings are designed to handle earthquakes of such magnitude.  Thats why there where so few deaths and injuries related to it.  6 nameless people dead doesn't make headlines.  Tim Russert dead does.

In this situation, no news equates to good news.

To DUmmies there are only two valid headlines: "BUSH LIED" and "PEOPLE DIED". All other reporting must be suspended until the end of Teh Boooosh's term or until Chimpeachment occurs, whichever comes first.

Why don't you DUmbasses get your own Hate Bush 24/7 channel if that's all you want to hear? Oh wait, you did already. It's called Air America Radio. How's that working out for you? :rotf:
