SPAM....love SPAM.....well, I used to.

My X-wife when we were first married would stick a few gloves in a lump of spam, pour honey over it, sprinkle cinnamon on it and bake in oven for a few minutes until it glazed over.....I ate the heck out of it and loved it. It was a lot cheaper way back then. You can get real meat  for the price of a can of spam now.

I learned how to make Spam sammichs in Home Ec (know it off - it was required!) in highschool.

I still like 'em. Spam between 2 slices of bread, slice of onion, mayo, slice of tomato. YUM-YUM. (My wife gets ill if she even sees the can of Spam.)

I never tried the deviled ham. That's all my wife would need to see - little cans of that stuff.

Spam, Mom would fry it up so it was crispy on top and bottom, put a fried egg on top, place between 2 slices of Wonder Bread with Mayo and a slice of red onion on top.  This was my school favorite bag lunch with some potato chips.

When I moved to Hawaii I was amazed at all the different ways they cook Spam, Fried spam with a pineapple slice with hot mustard--really, or Fried spam, pineapple, cottage cheese and some avocado.

I prefer Spam fried and have had some interesting meals using it.  I even had a tex-mex pinto bean side dish with fried spam instead of ham.

As long as Spam is fried I can substitute  it for ham in most any dish.---Spam burgers, fried Spam on the grill and all the usual hamburger fixings  with toasted rolls are great.
