Ray Nagin: Former New Orleans Mayor Indicted for Bribery

Federal prosecutors today announced a 21-count indictment against former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, accused of enriching himself as the city struggled to rebuild in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Nagin was charged with bribery, honest service wire fraud, money laundering, conspiracy and filing false tax returns.

"The defendant C. Ray Nagin, knowingly devised a scheme and artifice to defraud the City of New Orleans and its citizens of his honest services through bribery and a kickback scheme, whereby Mayor Nagin used his public office and his official capacity to provide favorable treatment that benefitted the business and financial interests of individuals providing him with bribery/kickback payoffs in the form of checks, cash, granite inventory, wire transfers personal services and free travel," the indictment said.

No worries mate....he's a black democrat. He'll be out of prison and back in office in no time at all.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

Mr. Chocolate's clearly been taking lessons from Kwame Kilpatrick, the former mayor of Detroit and now cooling his heels in prison -- again.

Speaking of Kwame, it looks like his wife Carlita (who is every bit the criminal her husband is) lost her job and her Texas home.

Oh, poor baby.  :bawl:

Journalist Charlie LeDuff, in his book Detroit: An American Autopsy, talks about how Carlita hit on him during an interview. (Kwame was in prison during the interview, therefore could not intervene with the doe eyes.)

That's just another bullet point to add to his resume to be used in future political campaigns.

The NAACP bused in voters to re-elect the man who didn't have the presence of mind to follow his own emergency management plan to bus them out.

It was all based on nothing more than (yet another fiction) that blacks are targets of racism and as such they were left to die by a white president.

Now we learn he defrauded the very people he was supposed to be protecting from the white devil.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.
