My very own bouncy from the CERFP
« on: July 22, 2013, 02:20:09 PM »
CERFP (pronounced: Surf-Pee) = CRBNE-Enhanced Response Force Package.

CBRNE (pronounced: See-Bernie) = Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Environmental

Basically it's a bunch of Joes and Janes having an exercise wherein they practice responding to a CBRNE incident.

I was in support as the real-world medic in the event there was a genuine casualty from heat or whatnot (there always are).

They had civilian role-players all done-up in moulage. They come from all walks of life. Some are working-off community service obligations, some are volunteering out of admiration for the soldiers, some are just plain curious; but they were as diverse a group as one could hope to find. Their job is to lie there, rolling and writhing on the ground waiting for their turn to go through decontamination and on to triage so that the CERFP can certify its operational capacity.

So, I was bored waiting for my first real casualty of the day. I went up to the mass of writhing, moaning would-be victims and announced, "Don't worry! ObamaCare has you all covered!"

What resulted was a rolling wave of laughter, derision and cat-calls all aimed at ObamaCare. No one took me to task and it was a universal concession that ObamaCare would only aggravated their miseries.

I was just being a smart-ass medic; the result genuinely surprised me.

Well, as you were in uniform, you can substitute for the cop.  All you need now are some bushes and a little more cowbell.

Can you please explain the nuclear and environmental????

Environmental would be anything from a natural source, i.e. a volcanic eruption spewing poisonous gas as well as structural damages

Nuclear is the nuclear weapons commonly thought of, contrasted with radiological which disperses radioactive materials without the wide scale blast damage, i.e. dirty bomb or neutron bomb
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Yeah, that's what it was called when I was on active duty, too. It only takes a little common sense to figure it out.  ;)
