He was almost mistaken for a US senator about the same time.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

He was almost mistaken for a US senator about the same time.

That's nothing, people mistook him for a qualified Presidential candidate quite a lot, and for the past five years they've been mistaking him for President.

How many waiters walk around with TelePrompTers?
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

Before he was president, Larry Sinclair mistook him for one of the rent-boys in the stable being run out of former democrat congressman Barney Frank's apartment.

I want to know what idiot looked at Obama and assumed Obama knew what it was to actually work for a living.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Frankly, Obama's complaint is a slap to all hard-working waiters who, by nature of their job, have more real life work experience than Obama.

Hi-5

A "real job" is something still missing on Obama's resume.

He sees being president of the United States as nothing more than as a subject on Robin Leach's "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous".

I didn't see any mention of this.

Quote
Senior Obama aide mistakes second most senior Army general for waiter

A senior aide to President Barack Obama attending a Washington dinner mistook the second most senior general in the United States Army for a waiter and asked him to get her a glass of wine.

Valerie Jarrett, a long-time Chicago friend of Mr Obama and his wife Michelle who became a White House counsellor two years ago, was attending the prestigious Alfalfa Club dinner when General Peter Chiarelli squeezed past her chair behind her.

The vice chief of staff for the US Army was wearing his full dress uniform with a chest full of medals and four stars on each sleeve. It seems, however, that Mrs Jarrett noticed only his striped trousers, often worn by waiters, and leapt to the wrong conclusion.
Obama's head bitch.

When Hitlery was 1st Lady ( a travesty galore) she requested members of our military to be waiters for her extravaganzas.

That indicates a bit of class.  Perhaps a bit more.

Given the way Obama acts with foreign leaders, perhaps it was an understandable mistake...and had a lot more to do with his demeanor than with his skin tone.

Also being a waiter is a skilled job (if done properly) - I can't imagine Pres. 0 having half of the necessary skills.
