Washington (CNN) – Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Maryland, has been a member of Congress for almost two decades.

Yet when he is walking down the street in Washington, D.C., at night and white women walk toward him, he says "I cross the street" to avoid making them uncomfortable.

Cummings says he rarely speaks about race or what life is like as a black man, but says President Barack Obama's heartfelt remarks Friday afternoon made him more comfortable to do so.

"I think it's important that he speak out and he brings a very unique perspective, because is the president and he has been extremely fortunate compared to most African-Americans, and yet still he can speak to the prejudices that most of us still face," Cummings told CNN in a telephone interview.

So he basically is profiling white people and making the assumption that they will be nervous if he walks by them. And somehow it's the white people who are the racists. He is the one making the assumption, he is the one judging them on their skin color.

I know the excuse will be there was racism in the past so he is within his rights to profile, yet if a white woman crossed the street because she saw a group of black teens dressed in gangsta style, she would be wrong for profiling.

Since Cummings is so concerned about women, he needs to speak with this guy and teach him how to be more sensitive to women's feeling instead of feeling up women.

I cracked up laughing yesterday when I heard that Obama guy say folks would lock their car doors when he walked down the street.  Those must of been homophobic folks or something, because I know dang well no one could fear the prissy little thing might be a BiG BaD BlacK Brute.

     Translation: "My government SUV drives me and my entourage everywhere I need to go. So when I say I "cross the street," I mean, when I see a white woman walking toward me and she's across the street, I order the driver of the government-issued SUV to cross the street so I can check her out. If she ain't got them tet-tets or dat ass, I let her go to one of the honky interns."
