Police seek hoodie wearing rat in Dearborn Family Dollar murders

DEARBORN, MI — When employees of a Family Dollar in Dearborn arrived to the store Tuesday morning, it was apparent something was dreadfully wrong.

The store was in complete disarray. It had been robbed. Joe Orlando, a 20-year-old employ, lay inside dead from gunfire. His coworker, Brenna K. Machus, 20, of Romulus, could not be found.

Video surveillance footage of a man police suspect may be involved was released late Tuesday.

It depicts a man in jeans and white tennis shoes entering the store about 7:30 p.m. Monday. Despite summer temperatures, he is wearing a jacket with a hooded sweatshirt over his head and drawn to cover the majority of his face.

Joe Orlando, 20, was found shot dead Tuesday morning at the store, which is off Michigan Avenue near Outer Drive.

His 20-year-old co-worker, Brenna Machus of Romulus, had been reported missing. But sources said her body was found early Thursday morning behind an AT&T building.
