.455 Webley. Standard British military issued sidearm. S&W M&P M10 were made and sold (loaned) to the Brits as a replacement. It was rebranded as the S&W Victory.

After  WW l broke  out, the US military forces couldn't supply the ranks with enough 1911's. As a result, some troops were issued a 1917, as it shot the same cartridge as a 1911, the 45 ACP. The M1917 was made by both Colt and S&W. It was not issued after the war.

During WW ll, Army Air Corp. fighter pilots were issued the S&W M10. I believe that the Marine aviators were issued the 1911a1. No military personnel was issued the 1917. Well, maybe some Russian pilots were and 11 Boo's kinfolk are communists.

1917 S&W

1917 Colt

Unless I am seriously mistaken, that would have been a .38 S&W.  I've been wrong before.  It could have been a M1917 Colt New Service, but that was dropped from production in early '41.

Heh!  I should have read ahead.  :hi5: DAT,  that's what I thought.

So our favorite lying sack of cow dung is at it again. He has at least 4 guns but yet supports a one gun a month policy not to mention all the standard anti gun laws pushed by the hard left now known as the Democratic Party. Sounds like he not only has become proficiant at lying but is now a hypocrite as well. He should give those weapons up and let someone that would take care of them have them.

Your lying BooBoo and we all know it. Nothing you have typed at the DUmp has been true. you make shit up as you go along and I bet all four of your guns are more likely imaginary or maybe airsoft . Your more then likely one of those thousands of deserters that Carter pardons after he took office and you want some cred with the proglydites on DU. Sissy, bedwetting bitches look at you and say 'Damn ,What a punk ass bitch".,

It'd be like saying, "Yeah, I still have my father's M-1 Garand from when he served in Vietnam in '70. BTW, when did the military start letting their troops ETS with their service weapons? Damnit! I want my f'n M-16/M203 NOW! Occupy the Army! Call Keef!

In the Good Old Days before tort lawyers, pigressives, and Fascist-Socialist lefties got the level of control in our society and government they enjoy now, officers' sidearms were issued individually for life, and they could take them with them when they left service.  Only general officers enjoy that privilege now.  I'm not sure when it ended, but I think it was shortly after WW2.

DUmmy numbersBoo again puts his gun savvy on display.

You can't have polymer-coated projectiles because they're cop-killers.

You can't have armor-piercing projectiles because they're cop-killers.

You can't have hollow points (which democrats invariably and ironically call DUmDUm bullets) because they're cop-killers.

You can't have .223 Remington, because they perform that mythical but deadly tumbling wander through the body, and are cop-killers.

And God forbid you have a .50 Barrett because its sole purpose is as a cop-killer.

It is a wonder that we still have any cops.

Yet they hate cops with a searing white hot passion.

More cognitive dissonance in a leftist's psyche.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

They used the M1911 in WWII. That was the standard issue sidearm for officers.
Auto's were not issued to pilots, the thought of the time were that if you ditched in the water an auto wouldn't fire reliably but a revolver could.

Anyone who went through boot camp would never confuse a pistol and a revolver.
But as there are few revolvers that are chambered in .45 at that time, none of which were issued to American officers, I think the primitive is a lying POS.
If his father did serve, I doubt that it was as a 'fighter pilot' as the primitive claims, due to his previous untruths that he has already been caught in. I am sure that he may have served honorably and his offspring is just riding his coat tails for a little street cred.

NumbersBoo is far worse than Weepin' Steve Dawes. When Dawes is called on wearing an overstuffed surplus-store uniform with a Combat Infantry Badge, he admits it's not his.

NumbersBoo insists he was in combat when he clearly was not.

106. Concealed Carry - ****ing Sucks
I was scared to death walking down a busy street last month to see my son do his magic at a club. I'm terrified knowing so many people are carrying guns. I won't go out - unless I have to.

So know this - you are scaring women, children and teens - how does that make you feel?

Last week on one of those Pawn show reality programs I saw some guy try and sell a M1917 revolver to the store for 10K .the only problem was that at some time the gun had been modified for use as a competition pistol buy taking the original barrel off and it was replaced wit ha cut down Thompson Sub machine gun barrel with the compensator on the end. It shot great but the value of the gun  was ruined the minute that Thompson barrel was mated to it. It had to be about 10-12 inches long.

A close friends father was a 24 driver over Germany. His issue handgun was a S&W M1917.
His father confirmed it.
I have fired it.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
