DOJ TO INVESTIGATE ZIMMERMAN FOR FEDERAL CIVIL RIGHTS CHARGES

On Sunday afternoon, the Obama Department of Justice announced that it would pursue investigation into George Zimmerman. That announcement came just hours after Zimmerman was acquitted for second-degree murder and manslaughter in the killing of Trayvon Martin, and within one day of the NAACP calling on the DOJ for an investigation.

Here is the Department of Justice statement in full:

As the Department first acknowledged last year, we have an open investigation into the death of Trayvon Martin. The Department of Justice’s Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation continue to evaluate the evidence generated during the federal investigation, as well as the evidence and testimony from the state trial. Experienced federal prosecutors will determine whether the evidence reveals a prosecutable violation of any of the limited federal criminal civil rights statutes within our jurisdiction, and whether federal prosecution is appropriate in accordance with the Department’s policy governing successive federal prosecution following a state trial.

Burden of proof is less in a Fed case than a state case.  They'll get the "justice" that was "denied" in the trial that just ended.

An FBI investigation into the shooting of black teenager Travyon Martin concluded that there's no evidence the suspect, George Zimmerman, was motived by racial bias or hatred.

You're saying the DoJ purposely put out a false statement?  It's not just Breitbart that's reporting it.  Ny Daily New is as well.  The NAACP has already put out on social media they are working with DoJ to start the criminal proceedings.

That's his point, Thundley. The COPS -being government employees - were charged. Zimmerman isn't a government employee, ergo he can't be (legitimately) charged with violating St. Skittles' civil rights.

Of course, the counter-argument to this is that the cops on scene of St.Skittles martyrdom determined that it was a clean shoot right at the very beginning, and the state prosecutor's office took it upon itself to press bogus charges anyway, so we can certainly say that the standard of prosecutorial incompetence demands that Comrade Holder press charges anyway, regardless of what the facts support.

Not only that but Zimmerman was found innocent by way of self protection .. WHICH IS NOT the same verdict as OJ Simpson enjoyed!

OJ was found not guilty of murder NOT innocent of murder due to self protection!

To expand on the OJ case ... OJ was sued .. In Civil Court by the Goldman's which was Not a civil rights issue!

A lesser degree of evidence is needed in that kind of case than in OJ's Criminal case!

The civil case found that OJ could have had the opportunity to kill his wife and her friend so the Goldman's won the suit.

Zimmerman was found not guilty due to self defense.

Nowhere are the two the same!

Most likely. This admin is grossly out of line with our constitution. They do not think they have to follow the laws of the land cause they "make the laws" may all of them drown in their own blood someday soon.
