I'll admit that I don't think he's guilty. As soon as I saw the pictures of Zimmerman's injuries, I thought he had a valid case for self defense. It's not like Trayvon Martin was a small kid, and he had no injuries besides the gunshot wound. Zimmerman certainly wasn't beating on Martin.

Why do so many people not care about the circumstances of what happened that night? As far as a lot of people are concerned, Zimmerman was tried and convicted before he was even arrested. It was like the Duke Lacrosse rape case all over again. Look how that turned out.

Zimmerman has been proven to be a douchebag wannabe cop. That doesn't make him a murderer.

How much of an ass kicking was he required to take? What if Martin had beaten Zimmerman to death? Would that have been justified because Zimmerman was following him?

To use deadly force a reasonable person must have the reasonable belief that he is in danger of death or great bodily harm.

Zimmerman needed a bandaid so I have trouble believing he reasonably needed to take a life.

Just how much does one have to get the hell beat out of them before there is reasonable concern of great bodily harm, and/or death? Depends. Obama's son wasn't a small guy.

On another note, Just Saying, even though I'm a smaller guy, I doubt it would take me very much to cause YOU great bodily harm. One of my "soup bones" (undertaker reference...look it up) to your jaw, and you'd have to get sugery. Ohhhh, it would feel so good to do it, too.

Just because he trained MMA-style (I don't even really know what that means), doesn't mean he actually knows how to fight when it gets real.

As you pointed out, Martin obviously got in some good shots on Zimmerman. Zimmerman apparently never got in a punch. That, to me, makes it seem that it was Martin who initiated physical contact.

I wanted to ask te same question. About Zimmerman being killed had he not shot martin and there's the answer I already knew: a black 'kid' can get his knickers in a knot over feeling 'dissed' and that's self defense. Having  your sensitive AA feelings hurt is grounds for a physical altercation And murder.  However actually be physically attacked by the same black and you may not defend yourself. His rage alone is apparently justifiable. My god these people are dangerous morons. It seems to me they think the black rage they have incited is justified reason for any crime. And they can't even see how they fuel the same dehumanizing racism they claim to oppose.  By the way dumbasses I've been followed as a young woman in a bigger city by perverts and never once was my first course of action confrontation. It was to get myself to safety. Now lay a hand on me or try and it was game in but not just for being followed dumb asses.

Jty, it's not just black kids. It's the whole thug culture, and it goes right into the whitest of middle class communities. The music, the video games, the celebrities, all point to a culture of violence

27 NFL players have been arrested since the Super Bowl. Chris Brown gets to beat the hell out of girlfriends with no real repercussions. Grand Theft Auto is an amazingly popular game. 17 year-old-boys are allowed by their parents to act like tough-guy jackasses on social media.

What the hell have we allowed to happen to our society?

I agree splash. I do think its a larger cultural issue however I do not find a thug white kid would ever get the same pass in behavior even if they are enculturated in it and that's why I kept it specific. All that said this country continues to disappoint that the answer given on du there was what it was. In that one word I'm being told my Caucasian sons have zero grounds to defend themselves if the person attacking them is black yet the black person attacking is justified to take their lives if they feel disrespected in any way.  I imagine I have more in common with a black mother of 100 years ago considering that then trayvon own mother ever will.

I've heard (and read) repeatedly that such actions are not significant, that they do not cause significant injuries, that they shouldn't cause you to fear for your safety and/or life.

Hey DUmmies Zimmerman is a democrat. He even voted for 0bama. I wonder if he will reconsider who he votes for, since the people he voted for last time are the reason that this went to trial to begin with. The justice dept that he helped create by voting for 0bama may come after him still.
