"The White River Blueway:This watershed project is the biggest effective eminent domain takeover of private property in the history of the United States. It will introduce bureaucratic rules and regulations that will affect all of us here in the Ozarks. We the people will have no say in it. The representatives we elect will have no say in it. It is our Federal government run amok. It will negatively affect property values, reduce tourism, decrease new construction, impact current homeowners, and make the Ozarks unfriendly to new and current businesses.The Blueway designation will include a 180 foot buffer around all surface water including farm and ranch stock ponds. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) published:"The best way to accomplish full restoration is to remove barriers to natural functioning, such as dams, ditches and other man-made structures,... The benefits of ecological engineering should be shared widely with all agencies and organizations engaged in habitat restoration activities."Obamacare produced a mountain of rules and regulations. The Blueway project will produce a similar mountain affecting both new and existing construction in the Ozarks. Jobs, tourism, and our economy will be affected.As a retired mid-level Federal employee, I know the extent and power of the government. My ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War to free this country, in the War of 1812 to keep it free, and in the Civil War to keep it united and strong. Generations were born and have lived in these hills, including my, father. Now, it's time to reassert our freedom, unity, and strength. (snip)The White River and its entire watershed were designated a National Blueway on January 9, 2013, by Ken Salazar, the Secretary of the Interior, as part of President Obama’s “Great Outdoors Initiativeâ€. (Salazar actually initiated the “National Blueways†program on May 24, 2012, with Secretarial Order 3321 designating the Connecticut River and its watershed as the Nation’s first National Blueway.) While this may sound warm and fuzzy, it actually outlines the destruction of private land ownership and the rise of the future estate of the Federal government!This Secretarial Order appears to allow any watershed in the United States to be designated a National Blueway with no involvement of Congress or the American public. This is an infringement on our private property rights.(snip)Federal bureaucrats gave no initial notification nor received any input from local county governments or the public –– which is a violation of federal law.(snip)
