Has anyone else noticed the whitewashing of Bush is well underway now?

I have seen several stories lately about Bush, and nearly every one contains a blurb about how Bush's poll numbers are on the upswing, and how Americans generally have a favorable view of ex-Presidents. It seems to be a meme that is being pushed hard.

Poor DUmmies are spitting mad that Bush isn't being remembered as the devil the left claimed he was.
The DUmmies reactions are the same as the reactions to the global warming models not being correct. They won't admit that the model is wrong, but that the earf just didn't cooperate and global warming will be even worse than they predicted.  :mental:

1. Oh, it's just part of making Jeb Bush acceptable for 2016...........

The republicans are changing their image you know.
Just look at the progress they have made in the last three weeks.

The repukes are bending over backwards to help you idiots get what you want and you still bitch.

GW cares so much about African. So touching.

Do you mean Africa or Africans maybe?
Once again just because their guy is nothing but a photo op seeker they project that on to Bush. Bush may not have been perfect but at least he gave a damn about people. After the Ft Hood work place violence incident he drove himself to Ft Hood and visited the wounded and the families and all without taking the press corpse with him.

2. He is a torturer, has denied people of free speech rights, had soldiers killed for a lie,

exposed a CIA agent, thousands died as a result of Katrina because of his administrations neglect and incinerated 3,000 human beings as a result of his negligence on 9/11. What a wonderful human being he is. I have one question. Why is Barack Obama hanging out with him?
If I win one of those lunches with Obama that I keep getting in my email that would be the question I would ask. And no answer would satisfy me. If I hung out with criminals I would be guilty by association and if I had done what GWB did I would be in prison or worse.

:whatever: Almost all of the DU lies all rolled into one post.

I heard on Rush's show on Monday that the deputy President of Kenya basically told 0bama he can take his gay marriage talk and shove it. If a foreign leader had done that to Bush the DUmmies would be yucking it up and telling us how that proves W was so hated. Not a peep from the DUmmies about this.

I wouldn't call it a whitewashing so much as I would say that nearly anyone short of Pol Pot looks good next to Obama.

That and most Americans aren't the rabid moonbats that the DUmmies are.

Thats just how they are. Its a personality flaw that I've noticed in a lot of leftists: The inability to admit when they are wrong. A lib could build a boat with a hole in it and would rather go to the bottom of the lake claiming its sea worthy than to admit the mistake.

Indeed. Except once the boat sinks, they will somehow manage to make it the GOP's fault, and not theirs. They are now scrambling to make Obamacare a Republican plan - except its really unlikely to work, as they made so much noise at its passing about how the GOP had nothing to do with it, and that the voters need to remember to thank Democrats for its passage.

What's this about "whitewashing"?  Isn't that racist, or something?

Anyway, I don't see it as whitewashing; I see it as setting the record straight.

Thats a classic leftist tactic. If the truth doesn't fit with your plan change it! Hell, according to them, Gov. Wallace was a republican.

The most recent example is Clinton cheering the USSC decision regarding DOMA.

As for party alignment, they claim all politicians they like as theirs by declaring that the parties periodically exchange planks & ideologies. So, Lincoln - Democrat. Fredrick Douglass - Democrat. All the Democrats who supported 'Jim Crow' laws - they're Republicans. Etc etc.

You can't condemn Bush-the-Lesser for doing the same things that our current administration is engaged in today.
It causes to much cognitive dissonance,
and frankly, makes too many look like rank hypocrites.

For instance, the meme yesterday was that Greenwald was a traitorous idiot for going along with Bush on the Invasion of Iraq.
When it was pointed out that the Democratic Party leadership did the very same thing,
and said the very same words as Greenwald,
it caused terminal dizziness from the contortions necessary to condemn Greenwald without condemning the Democratic party.
It was kinda fun to watch.

So the Meme Makers are at an impasse where they have to gloss over and rehab the worst outrages of the Bush Administration,
and pretend that nobody objected to these policies back then,
in order to justify the same policies today.

Yes, Alice.

It would be the evil Rethuglicans fault that because of deregulation the government inspectors could not mandate another hole be placed in the bottom of the boat to let the water out.

They would claim that global warming raised the temperature of the water making it easier for the water to pass through the hole.

Can't wait until the MSM starts blackwashing Obama.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

The Bushes have been going to Africa for years to do stuff. This trip just got attention because Obama and family ( and more "along for the ride" family and friends) just happened to be there at the same time.

Bushes were doing actual work at their expense and Obamas were there on $100 MILLION of US taxpayers tab.

The coincidence of Mr. Bush’s trip to Africa overlapping with President Obama’s own journey this week threw a rare public spotlight on the mission the 43rd president has chosen for himself since leaving office more than four years ago. Building on the health care programs of his presidency, he has quietly returned to Africa three times, renovating health clinics and expanding screening and treatment programs to fight cervical cancer.

from the same article.... what the DUmmies don't want to acknowledge...

Quote
While in office, Mr. Bush started the Millennium Challenge Corporation to direct aid to African states that tried to reform corrupt and undemocratic governments. He also initiated the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, or Pepfar, which invested tens of billions of dollars to fighting H.I.V., and later tackled malaria and tuberculosis

It's a very favorable article toward President Bush, Mrs Bush and their daughters.  :yahoo:
Not so favorable to Obama.  ...   :whistling:

Obama was questioned about the decrease in AIDS spending for Africa.  He stammered out an excuse about new methods and being more efficient let's them do more with less.

If that is true then why doesn't he apply that to US programs?

I love to read DUmmies whining about how bad they have it, how poor they are, how they can no longer find a job.

Their plight is in contrast to how much easier their miserable lives were ten years or so ago, i.e., during the Great Bush Prosperity.

0bama is going to pull that same magic Unicorn out of his ass with Medicare by cutting $750 billion out of the program.

Someone caid that if cutting $750 billion form Medicare is saving it, we should do that to all the other government programs.
