When the medic is on State Active Duty (SAD).
Medics do not get to use their military training which can include advanced airways, various medications and whatnot. Instead they get to be EMTs who aren't even allowed to distribute aspirin.
Well, we all complained this was a tremendous waste of our time and the taxpayer's money to put us on orders when calling the local ambulance would have equal -- if not better -- results.
Apparently, our complaints were taken to heat and they are going to try and revise the regulations.
