Can the jury convict for manslaughter ILO murder?

I looked it up. Zimmerman can be convicted of the lesser included charge of Manslaughter.

Thank you!

I see this as a possible outcome of the trial; but I'm afraid the race baiters will accept nothing less than a murder conviction.

Rioting before the verdict wouldn't surprise me at all. I could see it being used as an intimidation factor.

Agree she is a liar.  She heard "grass sounds" over the phone, WTH does that mean?  I think she was coached but her stupidity made her pretty much uncoachable, she remembered a few key phrases but just made up the rest.  IMO the whole trial is a PC joke.

I hope the trial doesn't last to long and the rioting starts right afterwards......watermelons are just beginning to ripen around here and if the riots start after, say August 10, I'll have to buy the damn things to bait a field.

I wonder if a few CCers should make a field trip to that part of Florida to help law abiding citizens remain un accosted. Anyone remember Reginald Denny ?

I know of no street fighter or otherwise that is going to yell for help when in a fight.

Help?!

I'm going to do what the cops tell people, and yell "FIRE!"
then proceed to kick ass

I'd yell "fire", if Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson were near by.
I would expect their unanimous reply would be "BANG".
Mr. Ruger and Mr. Colt, would no doubt approve.

You be the man that I or anyone of my daughters want for an escort into a mall from a parking lot at night.

Getting so females do not go out at night, sad, but even when accompanied with other woman they run into some monsters.

The youngsters run out there with no problem and are found dead on the street the next day.

We cannot live our lives locked into our homes we need to get out there and live life.---- time to settle down and tell the kids the truth, sure it will scare the pants off them but by golly they need to have some mental protection and a way to protect their body's from harm.

It is not easy for a father to tell her how men think about woman.   But men to protect their daughters need to tell her and insure she knows the mind set of the male. Teach the daughter the difference of love and lust.

I've told Mrs. Jukin that for over thirty years. More people, particularly women, need to know this.

People will always respond to someone yelling fire. Help, not so much.

St. Tayvon's GF sure didn't help the case too much. I wonder why the prosecution put her on unless they know the fix is in. Also, the actions of the judge will give tens of points for appeal. She actually testified for the poor, huge, stupid 19 year old junior in HS.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

From what I understand, she had a friend write the letter for her and she only signed it.  Still, it's a pretty sad state of affairs when a 19 year old high school junior can't read longhand.

That's her story and she is sticking to it.

For all she knew the friend could have wrote that she is an ignorant lying fat bitch (BTW what is her DUmp moniker) that should eat shit and die. At least that would be the truth. This doesn't fly at all. I particularly enjoyed her yelling back at the cross examination. She can't read the language cursive but she read all of Dale Carnegie's books.

What does the sound of wet grass sound like? POTATO of course.

This whole thing is a farce.  The fact that the trial is even occurring is because of the race hustlers that bought a lawyer for the Martin family, and used him to dig up turds like her to spout their bullshit.  It's ridiculous.

It also chaps my ass that this lady is cheered and adored at the DUmp for using terms like "cracker" and "nigga", but they want Paula Deen burned at the stake and her wealth redistributed because she said ****** in 1987.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if she suggested that Trayvon should kick that creepy ass crackers ass during their last phone call.

30. Granted, she had enunciation issues but I thought overall she was a good witness.

She was genuine; never more so when she meekly, but with emotion, told West, "Don't you understand how I feel?" as he continued to badger her about lying about the reason she didn't attend the funeral. As she said, she learned about Trayvon's death on the news, she had been the last person to talk to him, & she said that she didn't want to see the body, as she shook her head saying, no, no, no. I believed her. Putting those facts together, maybe she felt awkward about her role that night & felt shame that she didn't go to the funeral, &, as an inexperienced young person, thought creating a white lie (she "went to the hospital") was the solution for her.

I thought the comments between Trayvon & her about Zimmerman possibly being a rapist helped the prosecution (depending on how insightful the six jurors are). Wasn't that based on the fact that Zimmerman continued to stare at Trayvon? Staring at a person to the extent that Zimmerman was probably doing is an act of aggression, which is why it's considered impolite. It implies that Zimmerman was looking for trouble.

35. I so disagree with you

I am a white person (and a woman), and I found Rachel's testimony to be compelling, consistent, and strong. I could actually relate to her, or at least to her as a teenager.

Let's not racially profile what all white people think.

Even if they thought she was diffident or defensive, even if they didn't understand her, that doesn't mean they didn't believe what she said.

And let's also remember that she is not the total crux of this trial. There's a dead boy; there was someone with a gun and someone without a gun; there are police tapes; there were three other "ear" witnesses; there are tons of conflicting statements by Zimmerman that have not yet been addressed.

For disclosure's sake: I am a white woman who spent a lot of time tutoring kids, many of whom were a lot like Rachel, in an inner-city public school. So maybe I'm just more familiar with her style and background.

I'm far less familiar with gung-ho vigilante gun culture than I am with the Rachels of the world. I have to admit I am biased against Zimmerman, and have been since the beginning. And not because he is Hispanic.

and that's just one thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023114243
