An actor with ONE memorable roll showered with accolades, flags at half-staff, and a Governor fawning over his stardom.

I never even liked the Sopranos, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

(and the pikers can't see the flag for the flag pole. How refreshing of you folks)

May he rest in peace, but I know there are a lot more famous and deserving people out there who didn't get this kind of attention when they died.

What's going to happen when Springsteen dies, shut the state of NJ down for a month?

Have a great day. If you can stay in the air conditioning.

7. *sigh*

True Romance

Money for Nothing

Crimson Tide

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

A Civil Action

The Last Castle

All the King's Men

Plus a whole slew of stage work.

Etc.

Just shhh. Someone's always more deserving than someone else, but it's pretty damned petty to point it out before the body has cooled.

Besides, you're wrong about "one memorable role."

You may not remember. I do. And I never saw one episode of The Sopranos. Not one.

28. The bitterness of some Liberals ...

Gandolfini was a thespian that many other people truly appreciated, and whom those people wish to honor .. Why would you wish to interject your misanthropic pique into their expressions of grief and loss?

Some people are just mean ass people ... Count yourself among them ....

But now that you mention it: My favorite roll?

Cinnamon, of course ....

One memorable roll...

I had a cream cheese frosted pecan roll once that I'll never forget.

It should be renamed "the James Gandolfini".

They put the flag at half mast in NJ when that crack head singer offed herself. She was a POS prima donna and he was a decent actor who was a friend to veterans.
DH met him a few years back when he came to Bethesda and spend a good part of his day going around and spending time with the wounded warriors there.

This is the first time I've envied a hopeless, unemployable alcoholic.

I wish I'd never seen The Sopranos, so I could get the DVDs and enjoy the whole thing again without it being a rerun.

The voter roll. Liberal amounts of poppy and heaping helpings of oregano like spice, shaped like cement galoshes...PLONK. To go along with the (Big Dog) James Gandolfini roll.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I figure I'll give it a few years.  There are entire seasons I have never seen and I never watched the original HBO airings (cableings?).  Just the A&E reruns, once in awhile, cuz the GF had control of the remote.

Or, I got HGTV'd to death with granite appliances, stainless steel floors, hardwood countertops and gay liberals buying homes they cannot hope to actually afford.  But, I have gotten real good at crown moulding.

Damnit.......

We didn't watch the first season or two. There was so much buzz about it, I started renting the videos until we were caught up.

Then I subscribed to HBO just to get The Sopranos.

We still have HBO, but since the last episode of The Sopranos I've never turned it on except for Curb Your Enthusiasm (best comedy ever on TV).

I considered getting HBO just for Game of Thrones...but then I figured I can get it on Netflix. I read to books, so spoilers aren't a concern (I was surprised at the response to the Bloody Wedding...anyone who read the books knew it was coming).

I bought the first season.  It's good, but not as good as the books.  I probably won't watch the other season(s).

I did get to see a marathon before this last season started. They ran the season opener during a Free Preview weekend, and showed all of last season before the Premier. I enjoyed it; and I thought they were pretty darn close to the books. I like the actor playing Tyrion. He's a great character.
