Here's a DUmmie who almost gets it ... almost;

31. That doesn't make it any better...
...I think someone buying extravagant items like that is being foolish with their money but it's their choice still. What the heck are we gonna do? Have a food aisle at the store that contains the only items that poor people are allowed to buy? "Getcher white bread and mac & cheese in aisle two"
This DUmmie is almost there but fails to realize a couple of fundamental differences here.
It is NOT THEIR money. It is OUR money but we're allowing them to make choices. A lot of them are making poor choices.
Secondly, I do not care what poor people buy. If they are spending their money they can purchase whatever they want BUT if you are using food stamps at ALL then your money is no longer your money it is OUR money.
If you pull up in a Lexus, as is mentioned in the thread, then you have no right to our money. Sell that car and get something cheaper until you are no longer living off MY money.
I would propose a special section of grocery stores be set aside with only the things you may buy if you're using food stamps. Milk, eggs, cheese, beans, rice, bread, etc ... You know, staples.
