The Briefs of Laredo - Hike up those pants!
« on: June 12, 2013, 02:33:10 PM »
Who are more likely to wear their pants too low, liberals or conservatives?

The Briefs of Laredo

Sing to the tune of Marty Robbins' The Streets of Laredo.

As I walked out on the streets of Laredo.
As I walked out on Laredo one day,
I spied a young cowboy who showed too much linen,
He showed too much linen as clear as the day.

"I can see by your outfit that you are a cowboy."
These words he did say as I boldly walked by.
"Come an' sit down beside me an' hear my sad story.
"I'm showed too much brief an' my mother did cry."

"It was once in the saddle, I used to go dashing.
"Once in the saddle, I used to go play.
"First to the card-house and then down to Rose's.
"Jump hard off my horse and my pants fell away."

"Get six jolly cowboys to cover my long johns.
"Six dance-hall maidens to blush in appall.
"Put belt loops and buckles all over my britches.
"Put braces to hold up my pants as they fall."

“Then beat the drum slowly, I wore my pants lowly,
“Try not to laugh as I waddle along.
“I looked awfully silly, exposing my undies.
"Now I’m a young cowboy and I know I’ve done wrong.”

“So gather around you a group of young cowboys,
"An' tell them the story of this my sad fate.
"Tell one and the other before they go further.
"Pull up your low britches before it’s too late."

When thus he had spoken, the hot sun was setting.
The briefs of Laredo no more were displayed.
We thanked the young cowboy, his boxers now covered,
An' there stand his Levis, hiked up, to this day.

We beat the drum slowly, he wore his pants lowly,
Try not to laugh as he waddles along.
He looked awfully silly, exposing his undies.
Now he’s a young cowboy and he know he's done wrong.

You read it??

Why is it in this forum?
Help keep America beautiful...deface a liberal.

The Democrat and Republican parties are simply the left and right wings of the same bird of prey.

The road to freedom is paved with dead liberals.

Because FiddlingAnt is a lazy attention whore who wants to drum up traffic for his blog instead of being a contribution to Conservative Cave.

I read the first two lines.  I was just fishing to see if he/she/it ripped off someone else's work.  I was going to bring up the choice of forum after that was sorted out.

Screen name over there seems more appropriate.

Some people golf to emulate Tiger Woods. I write songs to emulate Weird Al, Allan Sherman, and Tim Hawkins. I'll admit it's an rare hobby. After thinking of a song that would work well (it's best to leave as much of the original words as possible), it takes about an hour to knock it out. There is actually a website where people share parody songs. Google "Am I Right" to find it.

Anyone going to opine as to whether people with low riding pants are more likely to be conservatives or liberals?

Not me.

You may want to review other peoples posts in the "Dumpster" and re-think your decision to post your opus here.  You might find "General Discussion" or even "Mind Numbing Stupidity" more appropriate.

That's what I thought, but a moderator thought it belonged in this section of the forum.
