Senate passes SNAP cuts on a bipartisan 66-27 vote.


The bill approved by the House Agriculture Committee last month would make much larger cuts to food stamps than the Senate version, in a bid to gain support from those House conservatives who have opposed the measure. The Senate bill would cut the food stamp program, now known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, by about $400 million a year, or half a percent. The House bill would cut the program by $2 billion a year, or a little more than 3 percent, and make it more difficult for some people to qualify.
 
And as stated, the House bill has BIGGER cuts.

The Senate votes for a devastating one-half-of-one-single-percent reduction in the ten-year trillion dollar foodstamp bill.

Foodstamp spending since the jug-eared muslim assumed the Presidency:

2008 ..... $37.6 billion

2009 ..... $53.6 billion
2010 ..... $68.3 billion
2011 ..... $75.7 billion
2012 ..... $78.4 billion

So the Senate bill is for $0.4 billion less. Devastating.
And I'll believe it's an actual cut, not just a reduction in spending growth, when I see it.

Here, I have to disagree.

Admittedly, the only close look I get at the democrats we feed is on "First 48", "Cops", and "Bait Car", but none of them look close to starvation, and they all look able to easily absorb a one-half percent cut in their taxpayer-provided rations.

In fact, most 0bamaites (the adult women without exception) look morbidly obese from feeding on government chow. A deep cut in the dole would probably be the best thing their jug-eared messiah could do for them.

Here in kalifornia I was at a small local grocer and the svelte 250+ 5 foot tall non white woman was yelling at the checker because store policy is you can only get $50 cash back from the EBT card.

Heck...around here you can only get $50 back on a debit card...it has nothing to do with EBT.

They're all fat as hell down here in the South and usually have about 4-8 kids in tow, and they're not exactly in the stores buying granola and vegetables. These assistance programs have only accomplished one thing, they made a perpetual slave class that spans generations.

Too many people miss the "S" part of SNAP, it is supposed to be Supplemental. 

I think it should be set up more like WIC where you get a certain amount of each type of food with your benefits, and you can pay cash for anything else.

I think they need to cut out the monetary aspect of it all together and set up food banks. They get a ration of generic, white-label food every month. Government cheese is now Velveeta from Kroger and to the stupid ass DUmmies, damn right we have a right to have a say in how our tax dollars are spent. These programs should be designed to drive people away from them and into self-sufficiency; not be so attractive to where they want to stay on them forever, and pass that mindset onto their offspring. As many others have stated, it supposed to be a safety net, not a hammock.

I saw a woman at Walmart at the checkout.  When all was rung up, she opened her purse and started dealing these cards like an expert dealer in Vegas.  She was deft, presenting her ID at the proper time, it was obvious she was well-practiced.  She also had a dude/husband in tow, standing there passively.  I wanted to yell at him to be a man and support his family.  Leeches, parasites, fleas and democraticks.

No one should have to have less than a two-pounder with drawn butter, some steamed asparagus with a nice hollandaise sauce, and a loaded baked potato.
