In a 2005 poll, 72% of DUers responding said they would heckle Laura Bush
if she came to their community.
The over the top hypocrisy on DU never seizes to amuse the hell out of me, darlings.

And DU was unrelentingly nasty to Laura Bush as First Lady, someone who was, in my opinion, a pleasant rather unoffensive, if boring first lady.

1. Are any of those posters still around? Don't get mad at DU, get mad at the individuals.
Besides, lets not promote toddler behavior by shouting at people when they're talking.
uh huh. Sure.

6. False Equivalency...
Big difference between starting a war and sending thousands of Americans into said war vs. signing anti discrimination legislation.
Also 72% of 74 total votes is not a very good sample size.
If Laura Bush started Iraq did Michelle Obama start Libya?

63. Who heckled Laura Bush?
This is such a bullshit dodge. JV knows there's no way to prove which Proglodyte said what so she hides behind that fact when the plain truth -- DU fosters festering hatred of all things decent and civilized -- is irrefutable. That the Proglodytes are hypocrites is irrefutable.

11. Our first lady is more fragile than their first lady.
Or, something.
Well, yeah.
She's black.
She can't feed, clothe, house, educate or survive on her own without special treatment.
Don't believe me?
Just ask any Progressive.

25. What does being black or white or yellow or red have to do with this??
The woman heckled her over equal rights for gay people. I have been here a long time, and if Laura Bush had done what Obama did, threaten to take her ball and go home, this crowd would have ripped Bush a new one.
It is the hypocrisy that gets me. It's OK when we do it, but not when they do it. Another example: drone strikes.
I try to judge everyone using the same ruler. I don't care what color they are, or what party they are. When someone is acting like a jerk, that they are a Democrat is not a good enough excuse. And I think MO acted like a petulant child. Not her best day.
Enjoy your stay.

23. So?
What's your point?
Got one over DU Cali? Does that make you feel special?

24. You have a point but this was at a private event, not a public one.
I don't mind a protester showing up anytime politics are involved, whether private or public, just making that distinction from Laura Bush. The poll might have read differently if 'private' versus 'public' was in the wording. Or maybe not.
Still, Michelle O has class, regardless of whether it was appropriate or inappropriate. She handled the situation superbly.

40. What other DU poll results from six years before I became a member am I obligated to agree with?

82. You missed the point
The point isn't about being obligated to agree with a poll. lol The point was about partisan hypocrisy. If you agreed it was ok to go after Laura Bush when she was First Lady you can't do a 180 and claim that the First Lady is off base just because it's now a Democrat in the WH. That kind of partisan hypocrisy doesn't go unnoticed and it's very embarrassing to see for anyone with even an ounce of integrity.

94. who did that?
who said it was ok to go after L. Bush and then did this 180?
The ones pant-hooting that cali is being unfair in her criticism.

41. You can't compare the Bush years to Obama's
The difference is that they make up scandals on Obama opposed to trying to keep up with all the Bush scandals. Big diff.
WTF does this baseless shit have to do with the OP?

69. Not buying it. The people who actually responded in comments mostly said No
The rest voted anonymously and could have been trolls for all we know.
Yes, in 2005 the Koch's were paying trolls to embarrass DU the day a gay agitator heckled MO.

86. This was a private event. If you're in favor of abolishing private property, you should say so. nt
My question is: when the **** has putrescence ever defended private property?

95. Well Laura Bush is wrong in everything she says so its ok to heckle her.
But Michelle Obama is right in everything she says so its not ok to heckle her.
DU logic.
