Susan Rice to replace Donilon as national security adviser
« on: June 05, 2013, 06:30:23 AM »

A White House official says Tom Donilon is resigning as President Obama's national security adviser and will be replaced by Susan Rice.

Rice is currently the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. She has been harshly criticized by Republicans for her initial accounting of the attacks on a U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, which later proved to be incorrect.

Donilon's resignation marks a significant shakeup for Obama's national security team.

The official insisted on anonymity in order to discuss the personnel changes before they were publicly announced.

And it keeps getting better!  :thatsright:

AP source: Obama to name Samantha Power to UN post

http://news.yahoo.com/ap-source-obama-name-samantha-power-un-post-120030277.html;_ylt=A2KJ2UhmKa9RcUsAj8rQtDMD

Power has a long record of antipathy towards Israel. In 2001 she attended the United Nations' World Conference Against Racism (in Durban, South Africa), even after the U.S. had withdrawn most of its diplomatic participation once it became apparent that the gathering would give prominence to anti-American, anti-Israel, and anti-Semitic perspectives.

Just months later, during a 2002 interview with Harry Kreisler, director of the Institute for International Studies at UC Berkeley, Power said that even if it meant “alienating a domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import” (i.e., Jewish Americans), the United States should stop investing “billions of dollars” in “servicing Israel’s military” and invest the money instead “in the new state of Palestine.” Moreover, she accused Israel of perpetrating "major human-rights abuses" and "war crimes."

Wow, it's obvious that this is her 'reward' for her good service to the nation. /sarc

Please tell me that this will not make it through the appointment hearings. I'd like to think that there are still enough republicans with principals to prevent this from happening. Wishful thinking, I know.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Rice doesn't have to go through Confirmation.  Power on the other hand does.

You have GOT to be shitting me.

Compare this woman to Condi Rice.  Wait a sec--aside from the last name, there really IS no comparison.

These are the same Republicans that voted to appoint Kagan and Sotomayor to the Supreme Court.

I don't have a lot of faith in them, if any, at this point.

Obama owes her.

She's taken a lot of fire for the "Sunday Morning" talking points fiasco and she was also Obama's pick for Sec. of State.  But, she had to decline, because of the Benghazi dust-up. There is no way she could have been confirmed.

If I'm not mistaken, as Obama's Nat'l Security advisor, she also can't be called to testify in the Benghazi hearings, covering both her and Obama's asses.

Donilon was either asked to leave for Rice's move up, or he probably wanted to get as far away from Washington as possible.  Supposedly his wife took a new job out of the country and he is going to fall off the map soon.  He knows where Obama was that night of the attack.

I don't think Susie had a lot to do with Benghazigate, except yapping the talking points about the dumbass video when she did. She got her marching orders directly from Barry on that.

Barry's the one that needs to be subpoenaed. No, I won't be holding my breath on that one.  :whatever:

But it is concretely a short-term gain -why they don't see it, and the repercussions is a mystery.

They don't see it as that.  They are playing a very long term game.  And their objective is to make this country a single party entity.

Obama came into office promising to fundamentally transform this nation and he's been doing just that.  The Left could care less about "repercussions"...they view us as "the little people" and our protests and threats to vote them out of office don't matter to them.  Nothing will stop them...legally or otherwise on their march to turning the U.S. into a Progressive neo-Communist nation.

Oh, I'd agree that she knew the story -- but like the good little Nazi she is, she saluted Barry's flag and stated her talking points right on cue.

What I meant was, she didn't really have anything to do with the Foggy Bottom's role in this -- the withholding of assistance, the bullshit with the talking points, etc. That we know of, of course.  ;)
