Sat Jun 1, 2013, 11:38 PM OffWithTheirHeads (9,050 posts) So I paid for some old lady"s groceries tonight. She was ahead of me in line and obviousally having trouble wih all the electronic bullshit. After swiping her credit card twice and having it rejected for being outof date or something, I just said **** it and told the cashier that I wold pay for it. I swiped my card and paid her bill. It was only about $40.00 and at this point in my life, $40.00 will not have a major effect on my life one way or another although there have been times when $40.00 was the difference between eating or not. The lady seemed embarrassed and I told her that I have been in her situation and not to worry about it but that people need to be nice to each other and the best way she could reciprocate was by doing something nice for someone else. She kept hugging me and telling me God Bless You, like the sky fairy had anything to do with it. I just kept my mouth shut and was comforted in the fact that Athiests can apply the teachings of Jesus too.
