NEW YORK – Jean Stapleton, the stage-trained character actress who played Archie Bunker's far better half, the sweetly naive Edith, in TV's groundbreaking 1970s comedy "All in the Family," has died. I loathed that show and just about everyone connected with it. RIP, Miss Stapleton. Thanks for helping to lower the standards and cheapen the culture.
Same here. The archetype of the "Straight white male family heads are contemptible fools" genre of sitcom.
That's standard for every sitcom.
