But what they share is a proud, willful ignorance which disguises any intelligence they might have. This ignorance is born out of an ideology which is blind to any evidence or argument. That makes them so resistant to changing their opinions and therefore learning how things really work.

It is the one thing that makes them difficult to fight politically. There is a cult like nature to their beliefs, which is another reason why they are such a problem.

I don't see how they can call the Tea Party "corporatists", since they are very much against crony capitalism and corporate influence in government. Like all good capitalists, they believe that business should succeed or fail on its own merits within the marketplace rather than being cut sweetheart deals and getting shored up by Washington. They just want politicians to get out of the way and stop stifling business growth through oppressive taxes and idiotic regulations.
