Republicans create events. Democrats react to events.

Every president's term has a setpiece idea created by the RW to give them something to talk about, keep them busy, and stall any actual progress.

During the Bush era it was the war on terror and homeland security, with the terror alerts and getting the al qaeda #2 every other month.

In Obama's first term it was the tea party, with the concentration on taxes, deficits and socialized healthcare. (My gues is that if Hillary had become president the tea party would still exist and would have gone after her policies or imagined policies).

Now the setpiece is the "scandals". It doesn't really matter what the details are, the perception is set in the RW community and now they have something to blather on about and keep the Repub base riled up.

So we have two different world views here. The Repubs who have a fixed idea and keep to that idea no matter what. It makes life easier for them because they have a script and power in numbers if everyone says the same thing. Meanwhile the Dems are reacting to events as they come along and trying to make the best of it.

Can you follow the logic here? I can't.

2. I think a lot of people are tired of the media blather and contrived scandals...

so we need a combination of pushing back (as we do here on DU) but also let these things play out.

The media might be shamed into doing its job eventually.

One can hope the media does it's job and reports on the criminality of this administration, but I think the DUmpmonkie means 'towing the party line', or some such nonsense.

First, this is just more projection.

Second, I wish that the Republicans were proactive instead of reactive.

Third, DUmbasses are really really stupid.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Dutch, I think that your first mistake was attributing 'logic' to the DUmb****s.
