The difference between liberals and "progressives".

The vid is mainly applied to Scandinavian countries, but tell me it doesn't describe the denizens of Du to a "T" in all their beliefs, not just their protective attitude towards Islam.

In the interest of full disclosure, Pat Condell is himself a liberal and an atheist and can be quite obnoxious at times on the subject of religion, but from what I've seen he at least adopts a live and let live attitude as long as faith is practiced peacefully.

Liberals turn into progressives. Progressives turn into communists. Communists kill off a percentage of their own populace.
They all support murder to further political aims.
They all support persecuting those who merely disagree.
None of them support the freedoms enshrined in the constitution.

Liberal. Progressive. Communist. They are the same: all just various shades of blood red.

Modern Leftists ruined the word "liberal". Real liberals were men like John Locke, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Alexis de Tocqueville, John Madison, and George Mason.

Collectivist, authoritarian Leftists- so-called "liberals" and progressives - are the enemy of Liberty, and of those who live by Liberty's law.
Government is the negation of liberty.

Do NOT use the word liberal when describing todays leftists. The two words have nothing in common.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Exactly. They hijacked the term. Just about everyone on this board is a classical liberal on many issues. NO one at the DUmp, aside from the moles, are classical liberals.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Consider that Liberal and Libertarian have the same root, then compare their philosophies.  The "Liberals" have corrupted the word quite freely.

Exactly. It is a misnomer. In many ways, the left is the reactionary.
