New Orleans Mother's Day attack: Teenager arrested

Police in the US city of New Orleans have arrested a teenager over the shootings at a Mother's Day parade that injured 19, including two children.

Akein Scott, 19, was taken into custody on Wednesday night, police said. He is said to have been identified from CCTV footage of the attack.

The charges against him have yet to be released.

Akein Scott, 19, was arrested without incident late Wednesday at an eastern New Orleans residence. His brother Shawn Scott, 24, was arrested Thursday morning as he tried to flee another residence in the city, police said.

I realize they are allegedly members of a gang, but even if true, what does randomly shooting up a parade have to do with gang activities? What does this gang have against people celebrating Mother's day? Sounds like an ass-pull regarding the motive from the police.

Epps suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso from the attack.

Just like the New Orleans I remember.  The year that I PCS'd down there to the NAS Bell Chase, there were over 530 murders that year.  So happy that I had little kids and a wife that worked on the east bank.

Not unless they belong to a white supremecry group.   Be they Tongs or Mexican groups, black Muslims or Russian Mafia, no mention.   

Never did understand why all groups of raced based groups are tolerated except for those that are white Christians.
