“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

The restaurant should have bottled the essence of bacon...

 Had a friend a Filipino who married to an American GI was hassled by neighbors for beginning who she was.

There is some food in the Philippians that when cooked smells awful  to others.  She began to BBQ this dish on her back porch .

Wasn't long before the authority's came down on her, The neighbors that hassled her were in for a surprise, this was her food, they could not stop her from cooking it.

Where are the rights to eat a food that the smell may be objectionable to neighbors ????

So I have a BBQ on back porch and and a new neighbor moves in, now what, do I have to give up my Pig picken because their so called religious faith feels assaulted by the smell.

When I was a kid, my maternal Grandma from Prussia, used to keep Limburgher cheese in the fridge. Sometimes she didn't wrap it very tight. This was in the forties, and all we had was waxed paper.....

Last night I watched Restaurant Impossible.  The restaurant had muskrat on their menu.  Robert Irvine tried to eat it, but he couldn't.

Never heard of it.  This is from wiki;

The smell evokes reactions from deep appreciation to intense disgust, and has been described variously as almonds, rotten onions, turpentine, raw sewage, and smelly socks[citation

Is this the stinkie fruit from Asia???   I was convinced to try a bite of this stuff that is sold in Asian food stores.   I was disgusted the first time I tried it, an acquired taste to be sure.   Second and third time I began to like the sucker.    UNTIL an older man told me people with a heart problem will die if they eat too much as a chemical in it causes the heart to beat too fast.

Now I had acquired a taste for the evil fruit and like all who out of the blue develope an allergy to some foods they love just had to thank heavens this was not Strawberrys or peanut butter.
