Oh I have a sense of adventure, but I prefer not to drive in a death trap. I love small cars, but ones with a good safety rating. Smart cars are death traps. I am not fond of death traps....that's just the way I roll. 
Smartcars have a very high safety rating. The frame is High Strength Steel. They scored a 9.1 out of 10. Higher than any subcompact car in the WORLD by an independent Insurance Company. Car and Driver has them rated the top sub compact as does Road N Track and Consumer reports.
