Two bald eagles in air battle crash-land at airport

Fighting eagles lock talons and are unable to disengage, but both survive

May 14, 2013 by David Strege

There was a crash landing Sunday at the Duluth International Airport, but it didn’t involve airplanes. Rather, it was two bald eagles, which were fighting in midair when they locked talons. In a rare spectacle of nature, they were unable to disengage in time before crashing to the runway.

“Apparently, mature eagles will sometimes fight over territories,” Randy Hanzal, a Minnesota conservation officer, told GrindTV in an email. “They will do battle in the air, crashing into each other and grabbing an intruding eagle with their talons."

“Usually, they will let go of each other before hitting the ground, but in this case, they had the talons so deeply imbedded in each other they may have been unable to let go.”

Hanzal was the one who was called in to collect the birds and deliver them to Wildwoods, a wildlife rehabilitation center in Duluth.

“Surprisingly, the two eagles were remarkably calm as I grabbed them both and loaded them into the back of my truck,” Hanzal said. “I think they were still more intent on winning the battle than any concern for me.”

Even bald eagles have priorities, I guess. O-)

That's the look the American eagle should have when looking at the Muslims.

I don't know about everyone, and I am not trying to come off as a muslim sympathiser, because this can apply to any group.
In this instance, the muslim community  wanted to do something together. The interlopers, came in to stit up trouble, and complained when the cops supposedly didn't do anything. It seems like all our rights seem to be clashing into each other.(Freedom of religion vs freedom of speech). I understand that we should be able to exercise those rights, but using common sense, when doing so...

Have you ever been to Dearborn, Sea? If you have, you'd see that the muzzies are everywhere. They control everything. They direct everything. They see Dearborn as their own little Sharia community.

So they're having a festival. Great. Did they have a permit for the festival? The article doesn't say. Nor does it say that the Christians who were "stirring up trouble" (to use your parlance) needed a permit or had a permit.

So we don't know the side of that story.

Be that as it may, when the stones started being thrown, who was doing the throwing? When violence was being perpetrated, who was being violent? Here's a little hint, Sea -- it wasn't the Christians. At least, the video didn't show any Christians taunting and bullying and belittling the muzzies. Looks to me they were proselytizing. And while lots of people don't like proselytizers, that's not cause to perpetrate violence on them.

If the cops were at all coherent, much less on the ball, they would've stopped the violence and arrested those throwing the stones. Instead, we see a sole cop who, most likely, was afraid of the muzzie crowd sufficiently that he chose to do NOTHING.

No, Sea, what we have here is a political cult that disguises itself in the form of a "religion." This cult is decidedly combative, violent, and refuses to assimilate in with the culture in which it finds itself. This complete lack of tolerance and empathy is what characterizes this so-called 'religion."

You can blame the Christians all you want, but at least based on the video I saw, I saw nothing in the Christians' behavior that would warrant their being pelted with stones.

I've been part of demonstrations and gatherings in which a lot of commentary is made, some of which is quite heated. But I haven't seen violence.

Islam is rife with violence.

You should study up on that at least a little bit.

Could have been a territorial dispute. Eagles also do this as part of their courtship ritual, amazing animal.

Eupher, ^5 from me.

However Sea has a good point also.   I would not want to go to a funeral and find the WBC inside the cemetery gates yelling what to me is over the top disrespect at me and the other mourners.

Yes I would if I could find a stone just might lob one at them  or whack a few off with my cane.

What on earth got into these Christians to go there and think suddenly they could convert Muslims in the first place.?  Only thing that would have made them more angry would to have brought on leashes tied to Pot Bellied pigs.

Freedom of Speech must be tempered with good sense, the laws are very confused on this matter.   One can go to jail for just using a raciest slur that pops out in a moment of stress.   At most it is impolite but now CRIMINAL ??????

It probably was.  I think that the article mentioned said type of dispute.
