Marta and I filled our large mailbox with non-perishable foods today. Soup, mac and cheese, Chef Boyardee, cream of wheat, tomato sauce, Hamburger Helper, etc. This is a once a year event that makes it so easy to help someone down on their luck.

Every time I go to the grocery store I pick up one can of food for the poor. I try to find things that are on sale but filled with protein. My mail carrier and the Boy Scouts end up hefting most of it away for me!!

My mail carrier and the Boy Scouts end up hefting most of it away for me!! .....but the Boy Scouts aren't unionized.....and not full of queers.....yet.

No. Usually the way that works is when the mail carriers come in with the groceries the Boy Scouts unload and sort them.....my son has done that every year for the last 6 years.

Hmmmmmmm. Up the road a piece there is a homeless shelter, big couple million dollar fancy hotel like place.  Any time we drive by I check out the  "GUESTS" parking lot and so far in a year or so have not seen one car or truck that is within 0 years older then mine. Both of mine are 2001 models.

Constent pleas for food and clothing for people still paying on 2 year old autos.  Some--SOME shelters have become big business for the owners, they need to keep the beds and rooms full to show a need  in the comunity for them to operate. 

Latest rumor is they may put in a pool and a small Gym.      Darn it all I do believe when Hubby retires we should sell the house and give away all our belongings to kids.  Sign into the place and while waiting for a room take a 6 month trip around the world trip on a cruse ship.  When we get down to $50.00 in the bank come home and move in.
