Ung=fortunately, no, but I did get to a bakery, and had a New York cheesecake...It shot my sugar to well over 200, but it was soooooooooo worth it!!
I have been told over and over again that when visiting NYC to spend extra bucks on a tour guide of the unusual sort.
Have to get a travel agency [free for you ] to find some tours that are most different from the usual.
There are some tours that will take you down below ground to see the city beneath the city. Then there are some interesting tours that take you into the sewer system of this huge city. Some tours will take you to the systems that supply water to this city awesome.
You will go again as you seem like an adventures soul, check out the old abandoned prisons that are said to be haunted, the areas off history, the abandoned leaper colony's and places unknown to the general public.
You can see the places Teddy Roosevelt knew of in his day that we have forgotten or don't want to remember.
I would love to take a 2 day tour of NYC , go by Amtrack and get a night or two off season with a shuttle bus into the city. First I would have to go to AAA or a tour business and dig deep to find the unusual tours and then contact them to find out if the price would be worth it. I do not want to spend money to take a bus tour about the city to have places of interest pointed out.
It is just me I guess that wants to see stuff few others have any interest in. How a city that size works, water, sewage, electricity, how the transport of millions a day works, the very workings of how millions of people survive. Then next trip to see broad way shows and the museums and parks.
