This coming Tuesday, April 30, 3:30 p.m. central time, 2:30 p.m. mountain time, marks the eighth anniversary of the scam that rocked the internet. (That was the exact minute poor stupid Beth, then sfexpat2000 and later EFerrari, officially launched her scam on Skins's island.)
Not even the Bostonian Drunkard's Fitzmas was as big as the Scamdal. It rocked and rolled the whole entire internet from that afternoon until it finally withered away sometime in September of 2005.
It was the Greatest Discombobulation, ever, on Skins's island.
There's never been a coherent overview, much less a history, of the Scamdal, mostly because poor stupid Beth is the only person who knows what really happened, and with her ever-advancing arteriosclerosis, it's being lost to history.
I don't mean to sound like a grouch, but don't ask franksolich what happened, because I was in the center of the
maelstrum, trying to make sense of it, and failing.
