It's a federal case, so I expect the prosecution to go for the death penalty, special circumstances and terrorism charges, including the use of WMD's.

I am opposed to the death penalty under all circumstances, but I want zero excuses that he did not get a good defense.

This is what makes for a civilized society.

And this man is a suspect, has not been indicted, nor convicted yet...and I hope they can find a fair jury.

As it should be. The current British system would work in my mind. Both defense and prosecutors in criminal cases work for the state, and they take turns...today I prosecute, tomorrow I defend.
 
I like that system.

Now civil litigation and maritime law is where private firms make their money.

Such a system would allow people the best defense (for the record there are private criminal defense lawyers but they are few).
 
Things one learns in comparative government courses.

Didn't know law firms in Denver and Omaha make their money from maritime law.

First time I've heard Google called a "course".
